The expert will design, develop, and optimize algorithms for medical and scientific image processing, leveraging machine learning and deep learning techniques to support research and clinical applications. Daily tasks include collaborating with faculty and research teams to define project requirements, implementing and validating image analysis pipelines, and preparing datasets and documentation for reproducible research. The role involves publishing results, contributing to grant proposals, supporting students and junior researchers with technical guidance, and maintaining high standards of data protection and research ethics. The expert will also help evaluate new tools and methodologies, ensuring RSU remains at the forefront of AI-driven image analysis in healthcare and related fields.QualificationsStrong background in image processing and computer vision, including experience with segmentation, classification, feature extraction, and image enhancement.Proficiency in machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) and experience building, training, and deploying models for image data.Advanced programming skills in languages commonly used for scientific computing (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++), and familiarity with version control and collaborative development workflows.Experience working with medical imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, CT, ultrasound, microscopy) or other complex scientific imaging data, including data preprocessing and annotation.Solid understanding of statistics, experimental design, and model evaluation metrics, with the ability to design robust validation and benchmarking procedures.Graduate degree (Master’s) in computer science, biomedical engineering, applied mathematics, physics, or a related field; equivalent experience in research or industry may be considered.Experience in interdisciplinary research environments, ideally in healthcare or life sciences, and familiarity with ethical and regulatory considerations in handling sensitive data.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.Ability to work independently and
