The company values technical excellence, thorough documentation, and strong customer service in every engagement.Role Description The Imaging Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chicago Area. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing imaging equipment such as X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and related diagnostic systems in healthcare facilities. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive maintenance, conducting performance and safety tests, troubleshooting technical issues, and documenting all service activities to support regulatory compliance. The Imaging Engineer will collaborate with clinical staff and facility management to schedule service, minimize equipment downtime, and provide technical guidance on equipment use and basic care. The role also involves adhering to company procedures, following industry standards and safety protocols, and occasionally assisting with other biomedical equipment as needed.Qualifications Strong technical skills in installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of medical imaging equipment, with the ability to interpret service manuals and schematics.Knowledge of electrical safety, radiation safety, and general biomedical engineering principles, including compliance with applicable healthcare and regulatory standards.Experience with preventive maintenance programs, performance testing, and detailed service documentation to support inspections and audits.Effective communication and customer service skills to work with clinical staff, explain technical issues, and coordinate service in active healthcare environments.Ability to work independently on-site, manage multiple service requests, and prioritize tasks while maintaining high quality and safety standards.Associate or bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, imaging technology, or a related technical field; equivalent military or industry training considered.Prior experience servicing medical imaging or biomedical equipment in hospitals or healthcare facilities is strongly preferred.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Greater Chicago Area to support multiple facilities as needed.
