Apply & track with Apply EdgeParalegal-Global Mobility and MigrationWashington, DCSummaryPremier, forward thinking, global law firm is a collegial, collaborative firm where highly motivated individuals with an unwavering commitment to excellence receive the opportunity, support, and development they need to grow, thrive, and realize their greatest potential all while supporting the Firm’s client service principles of excellence, strategic partnership, commercial instinct, integrated strengths, innovation, and collaboration across their firm.If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are exceptional client service, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness, and adaptability, you may be the person the firm is seeking to join their Paralegal department in their Washington, D.C. office, as a Paralegal: Global Mobility and Migration.The Paralegal: Global Mobility and Migration, prepares US employment-based, non-immigrant and immigrant visa filings to US Department of Labor, US Citizenship and Immigration Services, US Department of State and US Customs and Border Protection.ResponsibilitiesCompile and analyze immigration eligibility documents to assess potential immigration benefits, including for PERM applications and H-1B and L-1 visa processingAssist with the full PERM labor certification lifecycle, including drafting PERM advertisement text, prevailing wage requests, recruitment instructions, PERM applications (ETA 9089) and PERM compliance files, meticulously tracking timelines of each stepCommunicate clearly and effectively, based on attorney advice, on immigration benefits, government procedures and case processing time linesAssist multiple attorneys with meticulously tracking and reporting on visa expiration dates and filing deadlinesAct as back-up to other paralegals for specific case projects during absencesTravel as neededOther duties as requested by attorneys and managerOther job duties as assigned by the firmQualifications, Experience and Personal AttributesEducation/Training/CertificationsBachelor’s degree with solid academic credentials and 1-3 years of relevant experience, requiredProfessional ExperienceExperience in high-volume US visa processing, including the PERM case lifecycleSpecific Technical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office products requiredPerformance TraitsStrong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside parties such as filing vendors and personnel at jurisdictions of filingMust possess a desire to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, an attention to detail, strong organizational skills and enjoy providing top quality customer service skills to assist our growing GMM team in managing the mobility needs of our diverse, Fortune 500 client baseMust possess a curiosity to learn new areas of the law and think creatively, as we seek to provide all team members with a diverse portfolio of immigration and mobility mattersAbility to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the FirmMust be a self-starter with a high level of initiativeAbility to anticipate needs of lawyers and paralegalsMaintains confidentiality and exercises discretionExercise solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skillsPhysical RequirementsMay require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.This description is not exhaustive, and the firm may modify it at any time at its sole discretion; nothing herein creates an employment contract or alters the at-will nature of employment.The firm offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including medical/dental/vision/life/and AD&D insurance, 401(k) savings plan, back-up childcare and eldercare, generous paid time off (PTO), as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.Compensation: $51,000.00-$67,500.00, plus overtime and bonus
