The Consultant will act as a hands-on scientific expert supporting project teams from early development through clinical formulation assessment. The role encompasses oral and non-oral dosage forms for both non-clinical and clinical studies, generating and interpreting experimental data.The Consultant will contribute to define and realise fit-for-purpose experimental and in silico modelling among available strategies; critically review study designs, methods, data quality, interpretations, and reports; The role also includes maintaining current knowledge of emerging science, promoting consistent scientific standards and good documentation practices, supporting technical problem-solving, transferring knowledge across the biopharmaceutics community, and contributing to the evaluation and implementation of new tools and capabilities.The Consultant will be accountable for delivering agreed biopharmaceutics work packages to the required scientific quality and timelines. This includes selecting and applying appropriate in vitro tools to identify absorption risks; designing, executing, analysing, interpreting, and documenting studies on clinical and non-clinical formulations; developing fit-for-purpose analytical methods and innovative biorelevant techniques; and contribute building, optimizing, and applying animal and human PBPK models using experimentally derived inputs.The Consultant may provide backup support to ensure continuity of critical project and laboratory activities during planned or unplanned absences. Depending on demonstrated expertise, training, and prior agreement, this may include reviewing experimental protocols and data, communicating urgent operational issues, and supporting equipment-readiness or documentation tasks.What is your profile?The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy, biopharmaceutics, chemistry, life sciences, or related discipline, together with demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical development. The role ideally requires practical expertise in biorelevant in vitro models, formulation-performance assessment, analytical techniques and method development.The successful candidate will be at ease with standard analytical techniques (UPLC, UV spectroscopy, Dissolution testing) and must be able to combine scientific depth with strong delivery and collaboration skills.Key competencies include the ability to work independently or in team, coordinate activities and assigned work packages, and plan, perform, interpret, and report experiments in time to influence project decisions. The candidate must demonstrate and maintain rigorous standards for quality, documentation and laboratory safety.
