That same standard — of rigour, discretion and results — is now being extended beyond Mathematics.The OpportunityWe are extending our faculty in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Computer Science, to serve students across the IB (MYP & DP), IGCSE and A-Level curricula. This document sets out who we are looking for, and the standards — some negotiable, some absolutely not — that come with joining us.Eligibility Criteria – StandardEvery applicant is expected to meet the following, without exception:— A Bachelor's degree or higher in the relevant subject, or a closely related discipline, from a recognised university.— A minimum of two years' experience teaching or tutoring the subject at IB, IGCSE and/or A-Level.— A demonstrable track record of top-band outcomes — IB grade 7, and A*/A at IGCSE and A-Level.— Native or near-native fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication.— A stable, high-speed internet connection and a professional, distraction-free environment for online delivery.— Full completion of MathsTribe's vetting process, including identity verification and a satisfactorybackground/police clearance check.— Availability to commit to a minimum weekly teaching load. Reliability is treated as a condition of engagement, not a preference.Preferred QualificationsThe following are not required, but will distinguish an application:— A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).— Experience as an IB, Cambridge, Edexcel or AQA examiner, moderator, or Internal Assessment / Extended Essay supervisor.— Prior experience tutoring students at leading international schools or within HNW and private households.— A postgraduate qualification (MSc, MPhil or PhD) in the subject or a closely related field.— Additional language fluency, relevant to MathsTribe's international client base.Safeguarding Policy – Non-NegotiableMathsTribe works with minors. The following are conditions of engagement, and are never subject to a Client's request for exception:— Every tutor must complete a satisfactory background / police clearance check before their first session, and must disclose any prior safeguarding concern or investigation, regardless of outcome.— All tutors must complete MathsTribe's safeguarding training prior to engagement, and reaffirm this commitment annually.— Sessions must be conducted only through MathsTribe-approved platforms, with cameras on and appropriate professional boundaries maintained at all times.— Tutors must not exchange personal contact details with a minor, or communicate with a student outside MathsTribe's systems, under any circumstance.— Any safeguarding concern, however minor, must be reported to MathsTribe's Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately. This obligation overrides any request for discretion from a Client.— Breach of this policy results in immediate termination of engagement.Professional Culture & Non-Negotiable Standards— Absolute discretion. MathsTribe serves diplomatic, corporate and high-net-worth families; confidentiality regardinga Client's identity or circumstances is not optional, and extends beyond the end of any engagement.— Punctuality is a condition of engagement, not a courtesy. Repeated lateness, or late cancellation without notice, will not be tolerated.— Every session is prepared, never improvised. Tutors are expected to arrive with material tailored to the Client's syllabus and target grade — not a generic worksheet pack.— Communication is professional at all times — with Clients, with MathsTribe's Academic Concierge team, and with fellow faculty.— Tutors represent MathsTribe in every interaction. Conduct that falls short of this standard, in a session or otherwise, is grounds for immediate removal from the faculty.— Excellence is a baseline, not an aspiration.
