Candidates joining CLEO contribute to meaningful projects that impact healthcare delivery and outcomes in Greece and beyond.Role Description The Infection Control Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Athens. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control programs across clinical settings affiliated with CLEO. Daily tasks include conducting infection surveillance, auditing compliance with infection control protocols, and supporting outbreak investigation and response. The Infection Control Nurse provides education and training to clinical staff on best practices in infection prevention, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop guidelines, and supports data collection and reporting for epidemiological studies. The role involves close coordination with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and researchers to ensure safe, evidence-based care environments.QualificationsStrong foundation in Infection Control and Infection prevention, with experience applying related protocols in clinical settings.Clinical background in Nursing, with active licensure and demonstrated competence in patient care.Knowledge of Medicine and Infectious Diseases sufficient to collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.Experience or training in epidemiology, clinical research, or outcomes research is an advantage.Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and communicate findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.Effective interpersonal, teaching, and collaboration skills, including the ability to provide training and guidance to multidisciplinary teams.Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field; advanced certifications in infection control (e.g., CIC or equivalent) are highly desirable.Fluency in Greek and proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
