Information Technology Manager

We’re working with a small, established professional services firm of around 50–100 users that is looking to appoint an IT Manager to take ownership of its technology environment and support its ongoing development.This is a broad, hands-on role combining IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, projects and strategy. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and external technology partners, while ensuring users receive a high-quality, responsive IT service.Working pattern: 4 days per week in the office initially, reducing to 3 days per week in the office following successful completion of probation.Salary: £70,000-£80,000 per annum + bonusThe RoleTake ownership of the day-to-day management, support and security of the IT environment.Manage infrastructure across servers, networks, hardware, software, Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies.Lead technology projects including Cyber Essentials Plus, penetration testing, upgrades and system implementations.Develop and maintain IT security policies, disaster recovery plans and best-practice procedures.Manage third-party suppliers, technology contracts and the IT budget.Develop and implement the firm's IT strategy, aligned to wider business objectives.Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to users, including new starter inductions and technology training.Ensure appropriate compliance with GDPR, data protection and professional services regulatory requirements.Support the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, while ensuring data and intellectual property remain protected.About YouWe’re looking for an experienced IT professional with 5+ years’ experience in IT Management or a similar position, ideally within a professional services environment.You’ll need a strong technical grounding across Windows/Mac, Microsoft 365, networking, infrastructure, cloud and cybersecurity, alongside experience managing IT projects and external suppliers.Just as importantly, you’ll be hands-on, approachable and comfortable dealing directly with senior stakeholders and non-technical users.
