SYSTEMTEC is seeking an Entry-Level Security Analyst for a on-site opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will support an enterprise cybersecurity environment by monitoring threats, analyzing security events, assisting with incident response, and strengthening endpoint and network protections. This role will also contribute to vulnerability management, security automation, documentation, and other initiatives designed to protect sensitive information and critical systems.Required Qualifications of the Entry-Level Security Analyst:Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.Current residency in South Carolina is required; relocation candidates will not be considered.Ability to work fully onsite with no remote or hybrid flexibility.Availability to work scheduled Saturday and Sunday overnight shifts after training, including approximately 8:00 PM–8:00 AM.Understanding of fundamental cybersecurity principles, security processes, and common threat concepts.Working knowledge of basic computer, networking, and server administration concepts.Ability to analyze technical information, identify unusual activity, and escalate potential security concerns.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear technical documentation.Ability to follow established security procedures, investigate alerts, and collaborate with senior security personnel.Willingness and ability to learn new cybersecurity tools, technologies, procedures, and investigation techniques.Preferred Skills/Experience of the Entry-Level Security Analyst:1+ year of experience in an IT security-focused position.Experience with SIEM platforms, security monitoring, or endpoint protection solutions.Experience with PowerShell, Group Policy, SCCM, or other endpoint management technologies.Familiarity with vulnerability management, patching practices, and NIST security guidance.Knowledge of cloud security concepts and security controls.Experience in server administration or network administration.Familiarity with threat intelligence, OSINT, threat hunting, or security incident investigation.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.Security-related certification such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH).Responsibilities of the Entry-Level Security Analyst:Monitor threat intelligence, security alerts, endpoint activity, network events, and system logs to identify potential threats and indicators of compromise.Assist with proactive threat hunting, security investigations, detection-rule development, and initial incident triage using established tools and procedures.Collect and analyze relevant evidence during security incidents, document findings, and assist with containment, remediation, and follow-up activities.Support vulnerability management by reviewing findings, helping prioritize remediation efforts, and promoting sound patching and security practices.Use PowerShell, endpoint management tools, Group Policy, and other automation technologies to support security operations and improve operational efficiency.Prepare incident reports, security documentation, awareness materials, and other communications while contributing to ongoing improvements in the organization's security posture.Work Location: On-Site.
