Apply & track with Apply EdgeAssociate Infrastructure EngineerHybrid | New York CityThe OpportunityWe are seeking an Associate Infrastructure Engineer to join a hands-on technology operations team supporting cloud infrastructure, internal IT, and DevOps initiatives.This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their infrastructure career who wants meaningful production experience and the chance to learn directly from experienced engineers. You will work across AWS, Linux, networking, containers, automation, security, and traditional infrastructure, while gaining exposure to modern technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, observability, and AI-assisted engineering.You do not need to know the entire technology stack from day one. We are looking for someone with strong technical fundamentals, a genuine interest in infrastructure, and the drive to continuously learn and develop.What You'll DoCloud & InfrastructureMaintain, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux-based servers and containers in AWSSupport AWS and Kubernetes environments, including EKS, EC2, S3, VPC, Security Groups, Transfer Family, and IAMAssist with DNS, networking, routing, security, and core infrastructure servicesHelp improve the availability, security, performance, and resiliency of production environmentsGain hands-on experience supporting cloud infrastructure operating at production scaleAutomation & DevOpsLearn and contribute to Terraform, GitHub Actions, and GitOps workflowsGain exposure to platforms such as Argo CD and KargoDevelop scripts using Bash, Python, and/or PowerShell to automate repetitive operational tasksUse AI-assisted development and troubleshooting tools to improve efficiency while validating outputs for accuracy and securityMonitoring & Incident ResponseParticipate in incident response and troubleshooting across infrastructure and application environmentsWork alongside experienced engineers to identify and resolve technical issuesUse and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability toolsDocument incidents and translate lessons learned into improved procedures and runbooksIT, Identity & SecuritySupport day-to-day internal IT operations, including employee onboarding and offboarding, account management, access controls, and device troubleshootingAssist with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID administrationDevelop knowledge of traditional Windows infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Remote DesktopHelp administer business applications, SaaS platforms, and AI toolsApply security best practices including least privilege, system hardening, vulnerability management, and patchingSupport compliance and information security initiatives related to SOC 2, CIS, and ISO 27001What We're Looking For1–3 years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, system administration, technical operations, or a related areaInternships, substantial home lab experience, technical coursework, and hands-on projects may also be consideredStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and VPNsComfortable working with Linux from the command linePractical exposure to Docker and/or KubernetesExperience scripting with Bash and Python; PowerShell experience is a plusUnderstanding of core security concepts, including least privilege, patch management, and infrastructure hardeningComfortable using AI assistants and AI-driven engineering tools while critically reviewing and validating their outputStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and documentation habitsGenuine interest in learning new infrastructure, cloud, automation, and DevOps technologiesNice to HaveAny of the following can help differentiate you, but they are not required:Hands-on AWS experience with services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, or EKSExperience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code toolsExposure to GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Kargo, or other CI/CD and GitOps technologiesFamiliarity with Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, Active Directory, OAuth2, or SSOExperience with monitoring platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Amazon CloudWatchExposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, CIS, or ISO 27001Ability to investigate application logs or code in languages such as Python, C#, TypeScript, or C++Certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, CompTIA Linux+, CKAD, or similar
