Infrastructure Manager | $150,000 to $170,000 + bonus | Boston, MA | Hybrid, 3 days inWe are partnering with a leading professional services organization seeking an Infrastructure Manager to lead an established infrastructure and network engineering function.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infrastructure professional looking to combine technical leadership, people management and hands-on technical expertise. The role will suit someone with broad knowledge across infrastructure and networking who has developed particular depth in at least one area.The RoleThe Infrastructure Manager will take responsibility for a team spanning systems infrastructure, networking and telecommunications, providing both technical direction and day-to-day leadership.The successful candidate does not need to be an expert across every technology. Instead, we are looking for someone with an “inch deep, mile wide” understanding of the broader infrastructure landscape, alongside stronger hands-on expertise developed within either networking, systems or another core infrastructure discipline.Responsibilities will include:Leading and developing a team across infrastructure, networking and telecommunicationsProviding technical direction across the organization's wider infrastructure environmentSupporting and mentoring engineers while remaining close enough to the technology to provide guidance when requiredWorking across networking, servers, virtualization, storage, cloud and associated infrastructure technologiesHelping establish priorities, technical standards and best practices across the infrastructure functionPartnering with cloud, security and other technology teams on wider infrastructure initiativesSupporting the continued modernization and development of the organization's technology environmentIdentifying opportunities to improve automation, resilience, scalability and operational efficiencyManaging infrastructure-related projects and ensuring effective delivery across multiple technical areasActing as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issuesDeveloping strong relationships with technical teams and wider business stakeholdersWhat We’re Looking ForThe successful candidate will ideally bring:8+ years of infrastructure or network engineering experience, with 10 to 15 years particularly relevantBroad technical knowledge across enterprise infrastructure and networkingStrong hands-on expertise developed within at least one core area, ideally networking or systems infrastructureExperience working across technologies such as networking, Windows Server, virtualization, storage and cloud infrastructureAn understanding of modern cloud environments and how they integrate with traditional enterprise infrastructurePrevious people management, team leadership or technical leadership experienceThe ability to mentor engineers and provide technical direction across disciplinesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilitiesExperience managing infrastructure projects and technical changeExcellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersPrevious formal people management experience is not essential.
