Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.This direct hire opportunity is for a Director of Pharmacy at a historic not-for-profit acute care hospital located on Chicago’s South Side. The hospital has served its community since 1912 and offers a broad range of inpatient, outpatient, emergency, diagnostic, surgical, and community-based health services. This position provides a chance to lead a pharmacy department that truly makes a difference in an underserved area.

Location: Chicago, ILEmployment Type: Direct Hire, PermanentPharmacy Operating HoursMonday–Friday: 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Key ResponsibilitiesOversee clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital’s pharmacy department Lead and manage a team of approximately 20 pharmacy staff, including full-time, part-time, and PRN employees Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical leadership teams to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical services Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards Qualifications Or Desired ExperienceActive Illinois Pharmacist License in good standing (mandatory) Minimum three years of experience as Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital setting (mandatory) Minimum three years of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (mandatory) PharmD degree strongly preferred Board Certification and hospital pharmacy residency completion are advantageous Proven ability to manage a multi-level pharmacy team Experience in community or safety net hospitals is a plus BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account Vacation, sick time, and one personal day Six company-paid holidays Continuing education and career development opportunities 401k plan with company match License reimbursement Short and long-term disability coverage Eligible annual bonus of $3,000 Relocation assistance considered based on distance This is an exceptional leadership role with a competitive salary range of $165,000 to $185,000 annually, plus bonus and relocation consideration.
