Business Development Consultant 3 (Instructional Designer)Location: Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)Duration: 12-Month ContractPay: $40-$43/hr + PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) MatchPosition OverviewWe are seeking a strategic and business-driven Business Development Consultant 3 to support digital learning initiatives that drive user adoption, performance improvement, and business results. This role will partner with stakeholders, SMEs, and project teams to assess learning needs, develop role-based learning solutions, and create engaging digital learning experiences.The ideal candidate will have a background in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Corporate Training, or Education, along with experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to accelerate content development and improve learning effectiveness.ResponsibilitiesConduct learning needs analysis and identify performance gapsTranslate business needs into effective learning solutions and role-based learning pathwaysDesign and develop eLearning content, job aids, videos, and digital learning assetsCollaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, vendors, and project teams to ensure learning aligns with business objectivesUtilize AI-enabled tools and workflows to accelerate content creation and maintenanceSupport learning management system (LMS) administration, reporting, and content managementEvaluate learning effectiveness and recommend continuous improvementsManage project timelines, stakeholder inputs, and deliverables across multiple initiativesSupport change management and adoption efforts related to new learning programsBuild trusted relationships with stakeholders and gather learner feedback to improve content and outcomesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Education, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Corporate Training, or a related fieldExperience conducting learning needs analysis and performance consultingExperience developing role-based curriculum and digital learning contentStrong stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building skillsKnowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologiesExperience working in agile, project-based, or cross-functional environmentsAbility to handle ambiguity, shifting priorities, and evolving business needsPreferred SkillsArticulate Rise 360 and/or Storyline 360Clipchamp or similar video creation toolsLearning Management Systems (LMS)AI-assisted content development toolsSharePoint and Microsoft TeamsExcel, Power BI, Tableau, or learning analytics/reporting toolsAzure DevOps or similar project management platformsExperience creating job aids, learning guides, and multimedia learning assetsWhat Makes Someone SuccessfulStrategic thinker who can connect learning initiatives to business outcomesStrong collaborator who builds trust with stakeholders and SMEsExcellent written, verbal, and visual communication skillsHigh attention to detail and qualityAdaptable and comfortable navigating change and ambiguityPassion for continuous improvement, learning innovation, and emerging AI technologiesNice to HavePortfolio showcasing eLearning courses, instructional design work, videos, job aids, or training materialsExperience supporting digital transformation, adoption, or enablement initiativesBackground in corporate learning, business learning, public education, or workforce development programs#INDOEM
