We are looking for an Instructional Designer who can take technical knowledge, real-world experience, and complex processes and turn them into clear, engaging, practical learning experiences.This is not a role that operates only from behind a desk. You will spend time in the field alongside our team members and subject matter experts, observing the work firsthand and learning the skills our employees need to be successful. You’ll then determine the best way to teach those skills, whether that means a course, video, hands-on field experience, assessment, job aid, or a combination of learning methods.You also won't be expected to create everything alone. Field Verified has an in-house graphic designer and videographer who will partner with you to bring training concepts to life through professional graphics, videos, demonstrations, and other learning materials.You will help build the learning and development systems that prepare our people to grow with Field Verified as we expand nationwide.
What You’ll Do
Build Practical, Effective TrainingDesign and develop instructor-led, digital, self-paced, and hands-on learning experiences.Turn complex technical information into training that is clear, practical, and easy to apply.Determine the right learning approach for each skill, including when to incorporate video, assessments, field experience, demonstrations, job aids, or other resources.Develop courses, guides, assessments, microlearning, checklists, and performance-support tools.Build training around clearly defined skill expectations and competency levels.Review and improve existing training as Field Verified's processes and needs evolve.Learn the Work FirsthandSpend time in the field observing employees and subject matter experts performing technical skills.Learn our testing procedures, workflows, and field expectations.Capture the knowledge of experienced team members and transform it into repeatable training.Identify gaps where additional training or resources could improve employee understanding and performance.Ensure training reflects what employees actually encounter on the job.Collaborate With Our In-House TeamPartner with our in-house graphic designer to develop professional graphics, diagrams, job aids, guides, and visual learning resources.Partner with our in-house videographer to plan and produce demonstrations, technical training videos, field footage, and other video-based learning.Work with trainers, operational leaders, field employees, and subject matter experts to capture technical knowledge.Bring together the right people and resources to take training from concept through development and launch.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.2+ years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, training development, or a related role.Experience designing effective learning experiences for adults.Strong writing, editing, organization, and communication skills.Ability to take complicated or highly technical information and make it understandable.Ability to determine the appropriate learning method based on the skill being taught.Strong project-management skills and the ability to manage multiple training projects.Comfortable collaborating with subject matter experts and learning unfamiliar technical concepts.Willingness to spend time in the field observing and learning technical work firsthand.Comfortable learning and working with new learning technologies and tools.Preferred: Experience in construction, building enclosure, architecture, engineering, project management, or another technical environment.
