Company Description Amistad Recovery Services, LLC is a court-ordered provider specializing in educational and intervention programs that support individuals involved in the justice system. The organization offers TDLR-approved DWI Education, DWI Intervention, and Drug Offense Education classes designed to promote accountability and positive behavior change. Additional services include Anger Management and Substance Abuse Evaluations to help participants address underlying issues and develop healthier coping strategies. All classes are available in Spanish, ensuring accessible services for a diverse community. The team is committed to providing structured, respectful, and supportive instruction that empowers participants to meet legal requirements and personal recovery goals.Role Description The Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Angleton, TX. This role is responsible for delivering court-ordered classes, including DWI Education, DWI Intervention, Drug Offense Education, and Anger Management, following approved curricula and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans, facilitating group discussions, maintaining accurate attendance and course completion records, and administering assessments and evaluations. The Instructor will provide clear guidance on program expectations, support participants in understanding course content, and refer individuals to appropriate resources when needed. The role also involves collaborating with administrative staff, ensuring timely reporting to courts or referral sources, and maintaining a professional, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive classroom environment, including instruction in Spanish as needed.Qualifications Ability to effectively deliver structured educational programs, including TDLR DWI Education, DWI Intervention, Drug Offense Education, and Anger Management, using approved curricula and adult learning principles.Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead group discussions, present complex information clearly, and maintain professional boundaries with participants.Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to teach classes and complete documentation in both languages.Experience in behavioral health, substance use education, counseling, social services, or a related field; familiarity with court-ordered programs and justice-involved populations is highly beneficial.Solid organizational and documentation skills, including accurate recordkeeping, timely reporting, and compliance with regulatory and agency standards.Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, exercise sound judgment, and de-escalate challenging situations in a classroom setting.Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., TDLR instructor certification or eligibility to obtain it) and an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.Reliable attendance, ability to work assigned schedules (including evenings or weekends as needed), and commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and non-discriminatory learning environment.
