Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to support patient intake, daily office operations, clinical coordination, and basic human resources tasks. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, communicating with patients and healthcare professionals, and working within several computer systems.Responsibilities Patient IntakeCollect patient information, including name, date of birth, contact information, Social Security or Medicare number, code status, and important alertsVerify insurance benefits and create accurate patient chartsRequest medical records and follow up on missing intake documentsCreate patient profiles in communication, pharmacy, medical equipment, and clinical documentation systemsCoordinate and order necessary durable medical equipmentUpload all patient records and documents into the electronic medical recordKeep the clinical team updated throughout the intake processAdministrative SupportAnswer incoming calls and route messages to the appropriate team memberManage office phone coverage as assignedFile, scan, fax, and organize paperworkUpdate shared calendars, documents, spreadsheets, maps, and tracking reportsPrepare and send documents through DocuSignAssist with productivity reporting, office projects, and basic social media tasksHuman Resources SupportTrack new-hire progress through the onboarding processComplete reference checks and initiate background checksAssist with recruiting, reviewing applicants, and scheduling interviewsHelp gather and review information needed for biweekly payrollClinical SupportSend physician orders after confirming they have been signedProcess referrals for services such as podiatry, ophthalmology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapyContact medical equipment vendors regarding broken, missing, or no-longer-needed equipmentPrint, fax, and distribute medication lists and other clinical documentsRequirementsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEPrevious experience in healthcare intake, hospice, home health, or a medical office is preferredStrong organizational, communication, and customer-service skillsComfortable using multiple computer programs and learning new systemsStrong understanding of insurance verification and referral processesHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑moving environmentProfessional when communicating with patients, families, providers, vendors, and team membersAbility to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee informationExperience with electronic medical records, insurance verification, or medical terminology is a plusCompassionate, professional, and team‑orientedHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum of one (1) year insurance verification, insurance authorization or medical billing experienceBenefitsMedical/dental/vision benefits are available on the 1st of the month following the 60th day of employment401K Plan / PTO / paid holidays after 90 daysCompetitive SalaryWork in a friendly, inclusive group of people who want to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their familiesJoin the AdvisaCare family and let's make a difference together!
