Job Title: Interactive Drama Designer — 1 PositionAbout the JobWe are seeking a creative and innovative Interactive Drama Designer to develop dramatic experiences in which audiences actively participate in the story. The successful candidate will design interactive narratives that combine drama, character development, dialogue, user choice and emerging technologies to create experiences that evolve according to audience actions and decisions.This is a hands-on, interdisciplinary role working closely with writers, narrative designers, character designers, AI specialists, actors, voice professionals, game designers, XR developers and creative technologists. The role focuses on transforming traditional dramatic storytelling into dynamic, participatory experiences across digital environments, virtual worlds, AI-powered characters, games and immersive media.ResponsibilitiesDesign interactive dramatic concepts, narrative structures and experience frameworks for digital and immersive environments.Develop storylines, dramatic arcs, scenes, dialogue, character relationships and interactive situations.Create branching narratives in which user choices meaningfully influence character relationships, events, conflicts and outcomes.Design dramatic systems that allow stories to evolve dynamically rather than following a purely linear structure.Develop characters with clear motivations, emotional states, objectives, conflicts and relationship dynamics.Design interactions between users and characters that create tension, empathy, surprise, conflict and emotional engagement.Create dialogue trees, branching conversations, interactive scenes and decision-based narrative sequences.Collaborate with writers and narrative designers to translate dramatic concepts into interactive story systems.Work with AI and conversational technology teams to develop characters capable of improvisational and context-aware dramatic interaction.Design scenarios in which AI characters respond naturally to user decisions while maintaining dramatic coherence and character consistency.Collaborate with actors, voice artists, animators and performance teams to develop believable character performances.Work with game designers and XR developers to integrate dramatic experiences into virtual worlds, games and immersive environments.Develop narrative documentation including story bibles, character bibles, relationship maps, timelines and interactive scene specifications.Prototype interactive scenes and test different narrative pathways, character behaviors and user choices.Evaluate dramatic experiences for emotional impact, narrative coherence, user engagement and replayability.Analyze user behavior and feedback to refine narrative structures, character interactions and dramatic pacing.Explore new forms of AI-assisted, immersive and participatory drama that expand traditional approaches to storytelling and performance.QualificationsMinimum BA/MA in Dramatic Arts, Theatre, Screenwriting, Creative Writing, Film, Narrative Design, Game Design, Interactive Media, Digital Arts, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.At least 3–5 years of experience in drama, screenwriting, narrative design, game writing, interactive storytelling, immersive theatre or a related creative field.Demonstrable experience designing dramatic narratives, interactive stories, branching scenarios or character-driven experiences.Strong understanding of dramatic structure, storytelling, character development, dialogue, conflict and emotional pacing.Ability to design stories in which audience decisions and interactions become meaningful components of the dramatic experience.Strong understanding of interactive narrative, branching storytelling, choice-based experiences or non-linear drama.Experience designing dialogue trees, narrative systems, interactive scenes or character-driven experiences is highly desirable.Familiarity with generative AI, conversational AI, AI characters, virtual humans or adaptive narrative systems is an advantage.Understanding of acting, directing, voice performance, body language, facial expression and character performance is an advantage.Experience with games, virtual worlds, XR, immersive theatre, virtual production or real-time interactive environments is an advantage.Ability to collaborate effectively with writers, performers, designers, AI specialists, developers and creative technologists.Strong creative direction, communication, writing and problem-solving skills.Ability to balance artistic and dramatic vision with technical possibilities and user experience requirements.Fluency in English;
