The ideal candidate will have strong creative thinking and visualization skills, with the ability to develop compelling interior design concepts based on client requirements and project objectives.The successful candidate will be confident in communicating directly with clients, understanding their needs, presenting design solutions, and adapting concepts based on feedback. A strong awareness of current interior design trends, materials, styles, and industry developments is essential to provide innovative and relevant design solutions.This role requires a combination of creativity, technical knowledge, client communication, and the ability to take design concepts from initial discussions through presentation and development.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop creative and functional interior design concepts based on client requirements and project objectives.Create attractive and well-planned interior layouts, space plans, and design solutions for various projects.Meet and communicate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, objectives, and expectations.Translate client requirements and discussions into creative design concepts and visual solutions.Present design concepts and proposals clearly and professionally to clients.Prepare high-quality 2D and 3D presentations, mood boards, mock-ups, renderings, and design presentations.Develop material palettes, finishes, furniture selections, and other design elements in line with the approved concept.Prepare and develop drawings, layouts, and design details as required.Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and the UMQ project team to ensure design requirements are clearly communicated and implemented.Prepare quotations or assist in preparing project quotations in coordination with the relevant team.Follow the approved project workflow from initial client consultation through design development and execution.Incorporate client feedback and revise design concepts while maintaining design quality and project objectives.Conduct design research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of interior design trends, materials, finishes, and industry developments.Participate in site visits and coordinate with the execution team when required to ensure design intent is maintained.Manage multiple design tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and creativity.Maintain organized project files, presentations, drawings, and design documentation.Handle client and project information with professionalism and confidentiality.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, or a related field.2–3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in interior design, fit-out, or 3D visualization.Strong portfolio demonstrating interior design concepts, space planning, visualization, and creative development.Proficiency in drafting and preparing detailed interior design drawings.Strong knowledge of interior design principles, space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, scale, proportion, and composition.Proficiency in relevant design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.Experience with 3D rendering and visualization tools is highly desirable.Strong freehand sketching and visual communication skills.Strong understanding of composition, perspective, color theory, form, scale, and visual storytelling.Good observation, research, and creative problem-solving skills.Ability to develop design concepts and translate ideas into professional visual presentations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence in dealing with clients.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver work within required timelines.Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently when required.Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Professionalism and ability to handle sensitive or confidential client and project information.Preferred SkillsClient Communication & PresentationConcept DevelopmentSpace PlanningInterior Architecture2D & 3D VisualizationMood Boards & Material SelectionTechnical DrawingsInterior StylingCreative Problem SolvingDesign Research & Trend AwarenessAdobe Creative SuiteAutoCAD & SketchUpRendering & VisualizationProject CoordinationWhat We’re Looking ForWe are looking for a designer who is creative, proactive, client-focused, and passionate about interior design.
