This intern will receive technical training to support the deployment and mitigation of endpoints for electric and gas meters, gather and develop data requests to support revenue requests, and test applied updates and issues with field resources.Position SummarySupport all aspects of the AMI project by interacting with stakeholders to identify problems and develop solution requirements, helping implement and enhance project activities, supporting business process improvements and automation, troubleshooting complex issues, applying cybersecurity policies, and creating and maintaining process, training, technical documentation, standards, and procedures for supported systems and applications.Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.00/hour (first-year interns $20.00/hour; returning interns $21.00/hour)Location: Butte, Montana preferred; open to Montana and South Dakota service locationsEssential FunctionsAdhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & EthicsEnsure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectivesInteract with stakeholders to identify problems and develop requirements for solutionsImplement, enhance, and support all aspects of the AMI projectExhibit enthusiasm for technology, streamlining business processes, and introducing new automationDemonstrate strong analytical skills to evaluate and troubleshoot complex issuesHelp the business protect assets through adoption and employment of NorthWestern Energy cybersecurity policies, tools, and practicesParticipate in creating and maintaining process, training, technical documentation, standards, and procedures related to the operations and maintenance of supported systems and applicationsWork with vendors and colleagues to research, plan, test, and implement patches, releases, and upgradesAdditional ResponsibilitiesSupport AMI endpoint deployment and mitigation activities for electric and gas metersGather and develop data requests to support revenue requestsTest applied updates and issues with field resourcesCollaborate with Customer Care, field resources, vendors, and internal colleagues to support project needsWhat Is RequiredDemonstrate and maintain a good safety recordMust possess strong interpersonal communication skillsEngineering, Business, Information Technology (IT), or Computer Science (CS) related degree path requiredStudent must have completed sophomore level or higher by start dateMust be in good academic standingMust provide GPA in resume upon applicationMust possess strong customer service and computer technology problem-resolution skillsGeneral knowledge of Windows operating systems, servers, networks, security, and business continuity practicesStrong written and oral communication and documentation skillsSelf-starter who pursues self-education and is customer focusedWhat Is DesiredSQL database experience or exposure is a definite plusStrong aptitude to understand current technology trends in software, cloud, cybersecurity, and automation and apply them to NorthWestern Energy's business processing needs is preferredEnthusiasm for technology, streamlining business processes, and introducing new automation preferredThis description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of responsibilities, duties, and requirements for employees in this position.
