Role SummaryThe Risk Advisory Intern supports compliance, regulatory, and risk advisory engagements by assisting with engagement execution and documentation. The role provides exposure to professional advisory services, enabling the intern to apply foundational technical knowledge and develop professional judgment while contributing to high-quality client service under the guidance of experienced team members.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the execution of compliance, regulatory, and risk advisory engagementsSupport Anti-Money Laundering (AML) audit and consulting engagements, including data gathering and analysisAssist in risk model validation activities through documentation and testing supportParticipate in data privacy compliance reviews and remediation planning (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing procedures, including walkthroughs and control testingAssist in evaluating internal control systems and identifying potential areas for improvementAnalyze financial and operational data to help identify risks, trends, and control gapsPrepare working papers and engagement documentation in accordance with firm methodologiesCoordinate with engagement team members and participate in internal and client meetings as appropriateLearning and DevelopmentGain hands-on exposure to compliance and regulatory consulting engagementsDevelop foundational knowledge in AML, data privacy, SOX, and internal control frameworksLearn professional audit and advisory methodologies and documentation standardsReceive coaching and constructive feedback from senior professionalsQualificationsCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in AccountingBasic understanding of risk, audit, or compliance concepts is an advantageStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a professional environmentTechnical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong documentation, organization, and attention-to-detail skillsPreferred AttributesDemonstrated interest in risk advisory, compliance, or consultingStrong work ethic and commitment to professional developmentAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
