Most internships give you a defined role, a manager, and work that has already been figured out by someone else. This is not that. You are joining an early-stage project of a fintech startup at the point where almost nothing exists yet. No playbook, no process, no team to fall back on. Things will be unclear. Priorities will change mid-week. You will be handed problems nobody has solved before, and you will be expected to come back with an answer rather than a question. If that sounds exhausting, this is not for you.If it sounds like the most interesting six months you could spend, keep reading.⸻What the job actually isYou work on whatever the founder is working on.Research — market sizing, competitor teardowns, regulatory reading, background on a company or a person before a meeting. You form a view; you don't just collect links.Partnership outreach — building target lists, writing the first email, preparing materials, and following up until there is an answer. Not one follow-up. Until there is an answer.Hiring — writing JDs, sourcing, screening, taking first-round interviews, running the process end to end. You will be interviewing people older than you. You will be expected to be good at it.Product — reviewing flows, writing copy, testing releases, finding what is broken before a customer does.Meetings — brief before, notes during, actions after, and chasing every action until it is closed.Decks and documents — investor and partner material, one-pagers, process notes. Written well enough that they go out without being rewritten.Coordination — across design, tech, operations, vendors. Much of the job is simply making sure nothing gets dropped, because at this stage things get dropped constantly.Everything else — genuinely half the role. If something needs doing and nobody owns it, it is yours now.⸻What we are actually looking forNot a CV. These:You move fast. A day is a long time at this stage. Things that can be done today do not get done tomorrow. You finish things. Starting is easy and common. The rare quality is closing something out completely, without being reminded. You own outcomes, not tasks. "I sent the email" is not the answer. "It's done, here's what they said" is.You are resourceful before you are stuck. Figure it out, try something, use every tool available. Then ask — quickly, and with a specific question. You take feedback straight. It will be direct and frequent, because there is no time for the softened version. It is about the work, never about you.You have high standards when nobody is checking. Most of what you produce will not be reviewed line by line. It still has to be right. You want to build a company, not observe one. People who want a brand name for their CV will find this uncomfortable. People who want to know how it is actually done will not want to leave.⸻BasicsRecent graduate or final-year student. Any field.Writes clearly — most of what you produce leaves the building as writing.Comfortable talking to people you've never met: candidates, vendors, partners.Organised enough that things do not slip.Based in Mumbai, in office. This role does not work remotely. No finance or fintech background required. The domain is learnable. Drive is not.⸻What you getYou work directly with the founder. No layers, no filtering, nothing passed down third-hand.You see the whole company being built — hiring, product, partnerships, fundraising — at the stage where every decision is still visible.Responsibility far beyond what your CV currently justifies.Stipend: ₹10,000 per month.A full-time offer for the right person, and a genuine shot at growing with the company as it scales.⸻The honest partSome of this work is exciting. Some of it is tedious. Both have to be done properly, and at this stage the same person does both. You will make mistakes and they will be visible, because there is nobody in between you and the outcome. That is also exactly why you will learn faster here than anywhere else.⸻
