This role offers the unique opportunity to provide comprehensive internal medicine services in a setting that combines the personalized feel of a small practice with the benefits and resources of a major hospital system. The ideal candidate will contribute to building the practice’s focus on preventive care, chronic disease management, and potential areas such as weight management, obesity medicine, lifestyle medicine, or menopause care. Immediate availability is preferred due to upcoming physician departure in October 2026, with the possibility of accepting a 2026 resident.ResponsibilitiesProvide primary care services, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. Collaborate with subspecialists and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and patient education activities. Flexibility to split scheduled sessions between PCP duties and niche areas such as weight management, bariatrics, or lifestyle medicine. Potential to precept at other Maimonides sites, depending on interest and schedule. Support the practice's goal of expanding clinic hours, with future plans to open on Saturdays and willingness to work additional hours if needed. Engage in minimal call duties, primarily beeper call with hospitalists managing in-house patient care. RequirementsMD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Minimum of 2 years of post-residency clinical experience in outpatient internal medicine. Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. Interest in subspecialty niches such as weight management or lifestyle medicine is a plus. Eligible for New York State medical licensure. Willingness to participate in future clinic hours on weekends if expanded. Additional certifications in relevant subspecialties or interest areas are beneficial but not required. Some Of The BenefitsCompetitive base salary. Performance-based quality bonus up to $15,000, linked to measurable outcomes. RVU incentive pay of $40 per RVU above 4,800 RVUs annually. Extra compensation for weekend or after-hours work, at $175 per hour. Support staff including 2 front desk personnel and 3 LPNs. Transition to Epic EMR platform, anticipated in 2027.
