This world-class hospital will provide long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation services.Amana Healthcare provides long-term care for adult patients with complex medical needs in an inpatient setting. Multidisciplinary care will be provided though Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician and Intensive care unit (ICU) physicians, geriatricians, nurses, therapists, and a patient & family experience team who work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for those patients. It also offers specialized rehabilitation for individuals who require inpatient rehabilitation following a life-altering event, such as stroke, brain injury, spine injury, joint replacement, or amputation.Job Summary The Internal Medicine Doctor is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to residents of the long-term care facility, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient safety, and quality care. The physician will assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients with complex medical conditions, chronic illnesses, and multiple comorbidities while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and quality of lifeKey ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for long-term care residents.Conduct daily medical rounds and review residents' clinical status, treatment plans, and progress.Manage chronic medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory disorders, renal diseases, and other complex comorbidities.Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with nursing, rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, dietetics, and other allied health professionals.Respond promptly to medical emergencies and clinical deterioration of residents.Review medications regularly to ensure safe and effective pharmacological management.Coordinate referrals and consultations with specialist physicians as required.Participate in admission assessments and determine medical appropriateness for long-term care services.Communicate with patients and families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment plans, and goals of care.Ensure accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.Support infection prevention and control initiatives and ensure compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and discharge planning discussions.Contribute to quality improvement activities, clinical audits, and patient safety programmes.Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to junior physicians and nursing staff when required.Ensure compliance with NHRA regulations, facility policies, clinical guidelines, and ethical standards of medical practice.QualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.Specialist qualification in Internal Medicine.Valid NHRA licence or eligibility for licensure in Bahrain.Board Certification in Internal Medicine (or equivalent recognised qualification).ExperienceMinimum 5 years of post-specialisation experience in Internal Medicine.Experience in Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Post-Acute Care, or Hospital Medicine preferred.Experience managing patients with multiple chronic conditions and complex medical needs.
