Founded in 2015 and recognized 7 years on the INC. 5000 list, FreightWise was also voted one of the Best Places to Work by the Nashville Business Journal.Summary:As the International Freight Program Manager, you will own FreightWise’s international import program from regulatory compliance and rate procurement through booking operations, shipment visibility, and client relationship management.This role serves as the single point of accountability for overall program performance and the day-to-day client experience. The International Freight Program Manager will work closely with carriers, NVOCCs, overseas agents and partners, clients, and internal teams to ensure international shipments are managed efficiently, compliantly, and with a high level of service.What you will do:Own FMC/NVOCC compliance oversight, including verifying partner licensing and ensuring program requirements are metLead ocean freight rate procurement and carrier/NVOCC contract negotiationsManage international freight booking processes and partner SOPsOversee shipment visibility and exception handling throughout the international import processManage relationships with overseas agents and international partnersServe as a primary point of contact for clients and ensure a strong day-to-day customer experienceCoordinate with carriers, NVOCCs, partners, and internal teams to support successful shipment executionMonitor international freight program performance and identify opportunities for process and service improvementsSupport effective use of visibility and TMS platforms, including carrier EDI and API data feedsMaintain strong relationships with industry partners while ensuring FreightWise clients receive consistent, reliable serviceWhat you will need:5+ years of experience in ocean freight forwarding or NVOCC operationsExperience with ocean freight rate procurement and/or carrier contract negotiationsExperience working with Asia–U.S. trade lanes strongly preferredWorking knowledge of FMC/OTI regulations, NVOCC licensing, and tariff requirementsExperience managing overseas agent or partner networksFamiliarity with visibility and TMS platformsUnderstanding of carrier EDI and API data feedsCustomer-facing account management experienceStrong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and serve as the point of accountability for a complex international freight programNice to have:Existing carrier or NVOCC relationshipsNCBFAA or similar industry credentialsLanguage skills relevant to target originsNice-to-have qualifications are beneficial, but not required, where FreightWise's existing partner network is strong.We provide:Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTDCompany-paid life insurance $50k401(k), with matchPaid Time Off11 Paid HolidaysGreat work environment with opportunity for growthE-Verify:FreightWise participates in the federal government’s E-Verify program, which confirms employment authorization of all newly hired employees and most existing employees through an electronic database maintained by the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security.
