The International Photography Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workflow of our international photography team in China while ensuring all photography assets meet company quality standards, production timelines, and asset management requirements. This role serves as the primary liaison between the China photography team and internal departments including Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Creative, and IT.Success in this role requires exceptional organization, strong project management skills, photography production knowledge, digital asset management expertise, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact product launches.Key ResponsibilitiesInternational Photography Team ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for the China photography team.Review all daily photography submissions for quality, consistency, and adherence to brand standards.Perform quality control on all photography before final approval.Make minor photo edits and retouching when necessary to correct issues without delaying production.Identify recurring quality issues and provide feedback to the China team to improve future projects.Maintain and distribute updated photography guides, standards, and documentation whenever requirements change.Lead a bi-weekly Microsoft Teams meeting (9:00PM EST) with the China team to review performance, answer questions, and ensure alignment on processes and expectations.Photography Production & Project ManagementMonitor Monday.com daily to:Track project status and deadlines.Prioritize urgent projects.Review notifications and updates.Ensure established photography workflows and processes are being followed.Verify that every required sample has been photographed before closing a project.Cross-reference photography assets against NISF Excel files to ensure SKU accuracy and completeness.Confirm all required photography has been completed prior to project completion.Communicate project status, completed photography, and upload confirmations to Product Development, Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders.Coordinate with internal photography teams when projects cannot be completed by the China team due to sample delays or logistical issues.Quality AssuranceReview all images for:Correct SKU assignmentProper file namingBrand complianceImage qualityConsistent color and lightingCropping and compositionRequired deliverablesEnsure every project meets internal photography standards before assets are released.Digital Asset Management (DAM)Manage and maintain the company's Digital Asset Management (DAM)system.Organize photography assets for both in-house brands and external customer accounts.Build and continuously improve backend folder structures and server organization.Maintain consistent file naming conventions and metadata standards.Ensure photography assets are easy to locate and accessible across departments.Ensure metadata tags are accurate and searchableServer & Asset OrganizationDevelop scalable server organization for current and future brands.Maintain organized folder structures across all photography assets.Audit folders regularly to ensure compliance with company standards.Archive completed projects according to company procedures.AMT Automation ManagementMonitor AMT automations weeklyVerify that photography assets are correctly populating into AMT.Create and maintain updated folder paths for automationsPull and analyze AMT reports to cross-reference successful uploads and identify missing assets.Investigate and resolve automation errors to minimize disruptions.Communication & Cross-Functional CollaborationRespond promptly to emails and internal requests regarding:Photography statusProject timelinesRush requestsEditing requestsMissing assetsProduction schedulesMaintain strong communication with Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Creative, and IT.Provide regular updates on project progress and potential risks.Process ImprovementContinuously improve photography workflows and operational efficiencies.Create and update documentation for photography processes and asset management.Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve speed, consistency, and accuracy.Qualifications1+ years of experience in photography production, creative operations, digital asset management, or project management.Experience managing international teams or external creative vendors preferred.Knowledge of commercial photography workflows and post-production.Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.Experience using Monday.com or similar project management software.Strong understanding of server organization, file structures, metadata, and asset management best practices.Advanced organizational and multitasking skills.Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for basic photo editing and quality corrections.Strong Excel skills with the ability to reconcile data and validate SKU accuracy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.Success in This RoleThe ideal candidate builds strong relationships across departments, maintains exceptional attention to detail, proactively solves production issues, and ensures photography operations run efficiently from sample arrival through final asset delivery.
