This position requires in-depth knowledge of HTSUS classification and that of other countries as well as expertise in valuation, country of origin, FTAs, audits, protests, petitions, and prior disclosures. You will be responsible for tariff classification, valuation, country of origin determinations, FTA qualification, audits, CTPAT administration, ACE utilization, regulatory training, compliance manual development, post-entry support, and trade compliance program development.This is a remote position.About UsWe are a consulting firm specializing in operational international trade compliance. Our team includes an attorney, licensed customs brokers, project managers, and support staff who help clients navigate global trade requirements.We support importers, exporters, customs brokers, freight forwarders, transportation providers, and 3PL/4PL organizations worldwide.Our services include tariff classification, valuation, country of origin determinations, FTA qualification, audits, CTPAT administration, ACE utilization, regulatory training, compliance manual development, post-entry support, and trade compliance program development.Essential ResponsibilitiesTrade compliance program design - Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive compliance programs.Policy & procedure development - Create and maintain compliance policies, procedures, work instructions, and monitoring programs.Root-cause analysis - Conduct investigations and implement corrective actions.Process improvement - Drive continuous improvement initiatives.Regulatory investigations - Lead audits, assessments, protests, petitions, and prior disclosures involving import, export, sanctions, and anti-boycott compliance.Tariff classification - Classify products under HTSUS, Schedule B, and foreign tariff schedules.Country of origin & FTA qualification - Determine origin and eligibility under free trade agreements.Training delivery - Develop and deliver compliance training.Regulatory monitoring - Track regulatory developments and implement required changes.Landed cost & duty analysis - Support reporting, landed-cost analysis, and duty/tax assessments.Export controls - Evaluate export licensing requirements, ECCN classifications, and restricted-party screening.Other agency requirements - Determine applicability of PGA, ADD/CVD, TSCA, and other regulatory requirements.Government & service provider communication - Respond to inquiries from service providers and government agencies.Documentation audits - Audit ISFs, import entries, export documentation, and EEI filings.Certificates of origin - Prepare certificates of origin and supporting affidavits.Data management - Develop and maintain compliance databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.Special projects - Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.Education & ExperienceU.S. Customs Broker License, or willingness to obtain one (company-funded).Minimum 10 years of international trade compliance experience with an importer, exporter, or consulting firm.Demonstrated expertise in classification, valuation, origin, FTAs, audits, protests, petitions, and prior disclosures.Experience using ACE.Bachelor’s degree preferred.Knowledge & SkillsStrong knowledge of U.S. import and export regulations.Experience with international manufacturing operations, especially IMMEX.Leadership and project management abilities.Experience interacting with customs brokers and freight forwarders.Proficiency in ACE, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.Engineering background is desirable.Fluency in English required.Compensation & BenefitsSalary commensurate with experience.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.TravelTravel to client facilities in the United States, Mexico, and other international locations is required.Equal Employment OpportunityQualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, veteran status, disability, or other protected status.How to ApplySend inquiries to sroos@itcg.us.
