Applicants are encouraged to visit Synterra’s website to learn more about its service offerings and delivery team.Role Description The Interpretative Geophysicist is a full-time remote role responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and integrating geophysical data to support exploration and resource development projects. Day-to-day tasks include designing and reviewing geophysical survey programs, overseeing data acquisition, and performing quality control to ensure accurate and reliable datasets. The role involves developing subsurface models, generating maps and reports, and presenting findings to internal teams and external clients. The Interpretative Geophysicist collaborates closely with geologists, engineers, and project managers to recommend exploration targets, reduce subsurface uncertainty, and optimize drilling or development strategies. Additional responsibilities include maintaining technical documentation, staying current with geophysical software and methods, and contributing to continuous improvement of workflows and standards.QualificationsStrong foundation in applied geophysics, including experience in interpretation of subsurface structures and properties with at least 10 years experience.Proficiency in Geophysical Surveys and Data Acquisition, with the ability to design, evaluate, and optimize survey parameters.Experience in Geophysical Data Processing and broader Data Processing workflows, including data quality control and integration.Hands-on experience with Geophysics software tools (e.g., seismic, gravity, magnetic, EM) and related modeling and visualization platforms.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and data integrity.Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical reports and present complex concepts to diverse audiences.Apega membership requiredExperience in energy exploration, Mineral & Potash or resource development in Canada is required.Seisware Experience is an assetCommitment to professional ethics, safety standards, and continuous learning in emerging geophysical methods and technologies.Only those applicants legally allowed to work in Canada will be considered.
