This is a unique opportunity to work directly with founders, management teams and the Nash Capital investment team across the full investment lifecycle - from origination and execution through to active portfolio management. We are looking for someone with 4+ years’ experience in investment banking, financial due diligence or a related field, who is ready to step into a hands-on role within a dynamic, highly active private equity fund. About Nash CapitalNash Capital is a mid-market private equity firm partnering with high-quality Australian businesses ($30-200m enterprise value). We work closely with founders and management teams to drive operational improvement, strategic growth and long-term value creation. Nash Capital is nearing full deployment of Growth Fund I, a $100m+ fund investing across the industrial, education, B2B services, healthcare and technology / technology-enabled services sectors. You will be joining the business as we make our final two investments before raising Fund II in 2027. Our team is deeply involved in our portfolio companies, not just at board level but operationally, driving business transformation and the execution of our investment theses. The RoleAs a member of the Nash Capital Investment Team, this is a hands-on role providing support to our Investment Managers and Directors. Key Responsibilities Opportunity evaluation and researchUndertake detailed market research and prepare comprehensive market maps and target analysisTriage incoming opportunities and complete desktop diligenceMonitor deal flow and present pipeline opportunities to the investment team Investment due diligence and thesis developmentCommercial and operational - assess target markets, competitive dynamics, customer bases and business modelsFinancial - review historical performance, quality of earnings, working capital and forecastsDevelop and test investment theses against the evidence gatheredLiaise with advisers across diligence workstreams and manage data roomBuild and update detailed financial models (three-way models, returns analysis and scenario modelling)Support the development of investment committee materials and returns analysis, and participate in investment committee meetings Portfolio management and supportExecute 100-day plans and support delivery of the broader investment strategyLearn the trade of the businesses we invest in, provide boots-on-the-ground support at portfolio companies where requiredParticipate in board meetings for select portfolio companies Portfolio and investor reportingCompile KPI and financial data and support regular portfolio performance monitoringPrepare fund-level valuation metrics and portfolio reportingSupport development of quarterly investor updates and external communicationsCreate and update marketing documentation, including investor flyers and pitch decks What We’re Looking For4+ years’ experience in investment banking, financial due diligence, or similarHigh attention to detail with strong analytical skillsCommercial mindset and ability to assess business models criticallyStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong financial modelling capabilityComfortable engaging directly with business owners, senior management and external stakeholdersEntrepreneurial and proactive, with the drive to take ownership and see things throughDirect investment experience preferred Why Join Nash Capital?Direct exposure to the full investment lifecycleA seat in one of Australia’s most active private equity funds making the leap from Fund I to Fund IISignificant responsibility early in your careerHands-on operational experience within portfolio companiesClose interaction with mid market businesses and management teamsCompetitive salary If you are commercially driven, analytically strong and motivated to work in a high-performance investment environment, we would love to hear from you.
