It works actively with founders to co-create, fund and launch startups focused on AI and Digital Transformation of the Enterprise.Founded in 2012, The Hive US is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley. The Hive US has co-created and invested in 27 companies since its inception including one successful IPO (Pinterest) and seven exits. Notable investors include GE, Verizon, Rockwell Automation, and March Capital. The Hive Brazil and The Hive India are also a part of The Hive US global group of funds.The Hive Southeast Asia is one of the selected Venture Capital fund managers under the Malaysia Government’s Penjana Economic Stimulus Recovery Plan - Dana Penjana Nasional; a RM600 million investment fund set up by the Government of Malaysia for venture capital firms to invest in start-ups. This amount will be matched on a 1:1 basis in a private/public partnership. The Hive SEA is done in partnership with Hive in the US, Tuas Capital Partners, Sunway Group, and Penjana Kapital. To date, The Hive SEA have invested in 7 companies.2) Role DescriptionInterns will report to the Associate in-charge and Managing Partners. Interns will also be required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities:Deal screening and sourcingAssist in performing financial, commercial and potentially technical due diligence and analysis of prospective investmentsAssist in the preparation of business and financial materials such as investment memoranda, prospectus and financial modelsAssist in the presentation of investment thesis and conclusions to the Managing Partners and investment team during internal discussions or meetings;Research technology, market trends and competitive analysis of target companies.Engage in meetings, capture meeting notes and investment committee meeting minutes, attend weekly phone calls, and participate in partnerships and related follow-upsPerform directed research to identify new investment areas, trends, and opportunities3) Traits we value:Genuine passion and interest in technology, startups, entrepreneurship, & venture capital.Good communication skillsProactive in performing tasks, i.e. self-starter – disciplined, responsible, and self-motivatedBasic knowledge of financial statements and financial modeling is a plusTechnical skills in areas including software, electrical engineering, robotics, blockchain and biotech are a plus as wellHas a sense of humourJoin our diverse and inclusive venture capital firm, where we actively support and empower individuals from all backgrounds to excel in the investment industry, and contribute your unique perspectives to shape the future of the startup ecosystem.
