This is an opportunity for an experienced contentious insolvency professional to apply their legal and commercial judgement in an investment-focused, in-house environment.Who should apply?We welcome applications from professionals with experience in contentious insolvency and a strong focus on effective case management, cost control and risk assessment.You will be commercially minded, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of your decisions. As part of a small, collaborative team with a flat structure, you should be flexible, willing to share responsibility and ready to contribute wherever needed to achieve our collective objectives.You should also be willing to attend networking events and work from our London office, based in Soho, for two core days each week.What will you be doing?Your responsibilities will include:Proactively managing Asertis’ portfolio of insolvency claims.Liaising regularly with instructed lawyers on case strategy, budgets, costs and settlement.Monitoring progress, identifying key developments and reporting to Asertis’ committees.Following and contributing to internal reporting requirements and processes.Working closely with the Head of the Insolvency Team and colleagues in Operations and Finance.Assessing funding opportunities, including evaluating legal merits, reviewing asset reports and estimating the likely financial outcome and recoverability of each claim.Liaising with applicants and progressing suitable opportunities through due diligence, indicative terms and completion.Attending settlement meetings and contributing to settlement strategy.Organising and attending networking events—approximately one per week.Undertaking domestic and international travel, expected to average one or two days per month.
