Investment Monitoring Analyst

About the roleThe Investment Monitoring Analyst is responsible for supporting the ongoing oversight, analysis, and monitoring of investment portfolios and underlying investment managers. The role provides critical insight into compliance with investment guidelines, risk exposures and market developments, helping ensure portfolios remain aligned with client objectives and investment mandates.Working closely with Portfolio Managers, Investment Teams, Risk, Compliance, and Operations, the Investment Monitoring Analyst will produce detailed investment analysis, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and support regular reporting to internal stakeholders and clients.About youYour experience Experience within investment management, asset management, wealth management, pensions, or financial services (essential)Strong understanding of investment markets and financial instruments (essential)Progress towards or completion of CFA, CAIA, IMC, or equivalent qualification (desirable)Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Aladdin, Charles River, or similar investment systems (desirable)Knowledge of performance attribution methodologies (desirable)Understanding of UCITS, AIFMD, FCA, or institutional investment governance frameworks (desirable)Your skillsAdvanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modelling.Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.Ability to communicate investment concepts clearly to different audiences.Your day-to-dayInvestment Monitoring & AnalysisMonitor investment portfolios against benchmarks, targets, and investment objectives.Monitor portfolio exposures across asset classes, sectors, geographies, and currencies.Identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues requiring escalation.Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on investment holdings and strategies.Portfolio OversightSupport regular portfolio and fund review meetings.Review portfolio compliance with investment guidelines and mandates.Ensure investment activity is accurately reflected in reporting systems.Assist with onboarding new investments and fund launches.ReportingPrepare periodic investment reports for internal stakeholders, investment committees, and clients.Produce management information (MI) and key performance indicators.Prepare commentary on investment breaches, market developments, and portfolio positioning.Risk MonitoringMonitor investment risk metrics including Concentration risk, tracking error and liquidity risk.Escalate breaches, exceptions, or emerging investment concerns.Support regulatory and governance reporting requirements.Stakeholder ManagementBuild strong relationships with Portfolio Managers, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Operations teams.Respond to ad hoc investment queries from internal stakeholders.Support due diligence exercises and manager reviews.Contribute to investment committee papers and presentations.Data & SystemsMaintain investment monitoring databases and reporting tools.Validate investment data from custodians, administrators, and market data providers.Assist in enhancing reporting processes and automation initiatives.Contribute to continuous improvement projects within the investment function.About usPowering possibilities At First Sentier Group, we believe it is our responsibility to help clients achieve the financial freedom they desire, unlocking a world of possibilities.
