Apply & track with Apply EdgeThis role will help maintain accurate investment data, conduct manager and market research, prepare reporting materials, and support the investment team’s decision-making process. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, a genuine interest in financial markets, and the ability to use technology and automation to improve efficiency. As the role develops, the Investment Research Associate will take on increasing responsibility for investment due diligence, strategy coverage, and identifying new investment opportunities.Purpose of the RoleSupport the Research team by delivering accurate, timely, and well-organized investment research, reporting, and analysis.Assist in monitoring investment managers and portfolios to ensure consistent execution of research and due diligence processes.Help maintain the integrity, accessibility, and usability of investment data and research resources across the organization. Key ResponsibilitiesResearch Operations & Data ManagementMaintain investment data, research records, and due diligence documentation across research platforms and databases.Monitor investment performance and update manager research, performance metrics, and investment materials.Utilize tools such as Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, and internal research systems to gather, validate, and analyze investment data.Portfolio Analytics & Advisor SupportAssist with portfolio analysis, model portfolio maintenance, and investment proposal generation.Respond to advisor and client research requests with timely and actionable insights.Support portfolio construction and investment recommendation processes.Investment Research & Due Diligence SupportAssist the research, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring of traditional and alternative investment strategies.Participate in manager meetings, document key insights, and assist with due diligence reviews.Reporting & Investment CommunicationsPrepare performance reports, investment committee materials, client presentations, and proposal content.Develop research summaries, manager profiles, and other investment-related documentation.Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of research deliverables.Process Improvement & TechnologyIdentify opportunities to enhance research workflows, reporting processes, and data management practices.Support automation initiatives and the implementation of technology-enabled solutions, including artificial intelligence tools.Contribute to projects that improve the scalability and effectiveness of the firm's investment platform.Special ProjectsAssist with strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects that strengthen the firm's research capabilities and investment offerings.Support the ongoing development and enhancement of research infrastructure, databases, and investment resources. Core CompetenciesTechnical SkillsKnowledge of investment concepts, asset classes, portfolio analytics, manager research, and performance reporting.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, and internal research systems and financial software systemsExperience with Python, SQL, VBA, JavaScript, or other programming languages.Familiarity with AI tools and large language modelsStrong data management and analytical skillsCommunication & OrganizationExceptional attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and time management skillsProactive mindset with ability to anticipate needsStrong written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to learn and take initiative Key ChallengesBalancing recurring reporting deadlines, ad hoc research requests, and longer-term due diligence projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Working across multiple investment strategies, data sources, and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift quickly. QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.1–3 years of experience in investment research, portfolio analytics, manager due diligence, wealth management, institutional consulting, OCIO, family office, endowment, foundation, or a related investment role.Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.PreferredProgress toward CFA, CAIA, or a similar professional designation is preferred.Experience with Python, SQL, VBA, JavaScript, or other programming languages.Experience building automated workflows, dashboards, performance reporting structures, or internal productivity tools.Familiarity with AI tools and large language modelsExposure to FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar, vendor APIs, or data-management tools.Why AlphaCore Wealth Advisory?At AlphaCore Wealth Advisory, we offer a collaborative and dynamic work environment where your expertise and insights are valued.
