Team members join a close-knit organization that values heritage, collaboration, and long-term growth.Role DescriptionThe IT & Business Systems Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dallas, TX. This is a broad, hands-on role. The position will serve as the primary resource for general IT support while working closely with our Chief Operating Officer, EDI Manager and Chief Strategy Officer on business systems, integrations, analytics, automation, and other technology projects. The ideal candidate is a strong technology generalist who can troubleshoot everyday IT issues while also developing and implementing solutions involving AI and automation, programming, Tableau, EDI, RFID, APIs, systems integration, and emerging technologies. As part of a small technology team, this person will have the opportunity to work across disciplines, develop broad expertise, and play an important role in advancing the organization's technology capabilities. Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary resource for day-to-day IT support, providing responsive, solutions-oriented assistance while building positive working relationships across the organization.Assist technology setup, maintenance, access, documentation, and employee onboarding/offboarding.Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with outside vendors and service providers when appropriate.Work with employees across the organization to understand business processes and identify opportunities for technology to improve efficiency and capabilities.Participate in and lead technology projects from requirements and evaluation through implementation, testing, training, and ongoing support.Develop scripts, applications, automations, integrations, and other technical solutions as business needs require.Evaluate and implement practical applications of AI and emerging technologies.Work closely with the EDI Manager and Data Scientist on projects involving EDI, Tableau, SQL, APIs, data integration, and analytics, while providing backup support in these areas as needed.Support initiatives involving RFID and other technologies used throughout the business.Help maintain the security, reliability, and organization of the company's technology environment with outside IT vendor. Document systems, integrations, processes, and technical procedures.Qualifications5+ years of relevant experience in IT, business systems, technology, or a related field.Broad technical experience with demonstrated expertise in one or more technology areas and the ability to quickly learn and work across others. Our technology environment includes programming/scripting, AI and automation, Tableau, SQL/APIs, EDI, RFID, Microsoft 365, networking, cloud applications, and cybersecurity.Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees with varying levels of technical expertise.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to understand business needs and translate them into practical, effective technology solutions.Experience implementing technology projects and working across multiple systems or business functions.Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and systems quickly.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of issues through resolution.Professional, responsive, and service-oriented approach to supporting users.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a small technology team.The OpportunityThis role offers an unusual combination of hands-on IT responsibility and strategic technology project work.
