Job descriptionAs a Senior Business Analyst, you will act as the bridge between public health experts, country stakeholders, and technical engineering teams. Your role will focus on translating operational and surveillance needs into clear technical requirements, supporting data integration and harmonisation, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet both business and technical expectations.You will work across requirements definition, data mapping, user acceptance testing, stakeholder validation, and operational onboarding, while supporting the continuous improvement of the product backlog.Key responsibilities include:Capture functional, non-functional, and data integration requirements through interviews, workshops, and focus groups with health experts and technical teams.Analyse existing system architectures and define future middleware data flows, including metadata translation, variable harmonisation, and geospatial logic.Produce source-to-target data mappings, UML use cases, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.Validate requirements and data mappings with epidemiologists, Ministry of Health representatives, and other key stakeholders, ensuring formal sign-off where required.Identify differences between local workflows and standard data models, and define appropriate integration and operational solutions.Support User Acceptance Testing by preparing test cases, validating harmonised data outputs, tracking defects, and coordinating resolutions with technical teams.Review AI-assisted mapping outputs and support the definition of validation rules and human review criteria.Maintain and prioritise an engineering-ready product backlog based on user and operational needs.Prepare user documentation, wireframes, report mock-ups, and operational procedures.Facilitate system demonstrations, knowledge transfer sessions, and onboarding activities for pilot-country users and technical counterparts.Your profileMinimum 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with strong exposure to requirements management and system or data integration projects.Experience with medium-to-large data systems, database-driven architectures, and collaboration with software developers, data engineers, and technical architects.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.Strong knowledge of business analysis techniques, including user stories, UML, process flows, data mapping, wireframes, and acceptance criteria.Good understanding of APIs, relational database schemas, XML, JSON, CSV, SDLC, Git-based workflows, JIRA, and Confluence.Strong stakeholder management skills in international and multicultural environments, including workshops, requirements validation, and sign-off coordination.Fluent English; French or Portuguese is an advantage.Availability for periodic travel to Berlin and pilot countries.Experience with public health, health informatics, disease surveillance, or health information systems such as DHIS2, SORMAS, EWARS, Go.Data, or OpenELIS is a strong advantage.
