IT Business Analyst / ERP Business AnalystLocation: New York City, NY / Chicago, IL / Dallas, TX / Houston, TXEmployment Type: Full-TimeExperience: 3–10+ yearsSalary Range: $100,000–$145,000 per yearPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst / ERP Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technology solutions across enterprise systems and ERP environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, SQL, ERP applications, Agile delivery, and technical documentation.You will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, QA teams, and ERP/IT teams to identify business needs, translate them into actionable requirements, and support successful implementation of technology solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, pain points, and system needs.Gather, analyze, validate, and document functional and business requirements.Translate business requirements into clear user stories, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and process documentation.Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and ERP improvements.Work with ERP teams to support implementations, enhancements, integrations, and system upgrades.Use SQL to query and analyze data, validate requirements, troubleshoot issues, and support business decisions.Create process flows, workflow diagrams, data mappings, and other business/technical documentation.Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, QA teams, architects, and subject-matter experts in an Agile environment.Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.Support functional testing, UAT, defect analysis, and production implementation activities.Investigate system and process issues and work with technical teams to determine root causes and solutions.Ensure delivered solutions align with business requirements and expected outcomes.Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and requirements clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Required Qualifications3–10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst, ERP Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.Strong experience with requirements gathering and requirements management.Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.Experience with ERP systems, implementations, enhancements, or integrations.Strong business process analysis and process improvement skills.Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.Strong documentation skills, including requirements documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting enterprise-scale ERP implementations or transformation initiatives.Experience with ERP modules such as Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Order Management, HR, or related business functions.Experience with system integrations, APIs, data mapping, and data migration.Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, or similar requirements/process-management platforms.Experience with UAT planning and execution.Strong understanding of SDLC, QA processes, and software delivery practices.Business analysis or Agile certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Scrum certification are a plus.Core SkillsBusiness Analysis: Requirements Gathering, Requirements Elicitation, Stakeholder Management, Business Process Analysis, Gap Analysis, Process ImprovementTechnical: SQL, Data Analysis, Data Mapping, Systems Analysis, Integrations, ERP SystemsAgile: Scrum, UserSkills: data analysis,erp,sql,scrum,systems analysis,agile,business requirements
