Business Applications Manager - Technology / Product - 12 Month Contract Abu Dhabi - Onsite Duration: 12-month initial contract, highly likely to be extended. Sector Experience: Transportation, Airports, Aviation, Aerospace, Logistics Technology Area: Business Applications Salt is partnering with an established Abu Dhabi business to hire a Business Applications Manager to take ownership of its operational application portfolio.This role combines application service management, business analysis and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with operational teams, technology colleagues and external vendors to keep business-critical systems running effectively and ensure enhancements deliver practical business value.The emphasis is on owning and improving live applications, rather than a purely product-led or transformation role.What you’ll be doingOwn a portfolio of operational business applications, overseeing ongoing support, performance and lifecycle management.Manage BAU support, incidents, escalations and recurring issues, coordinating internal teams and vendors through resolution.Monitor SLAs and vendor service performance, driving corrective actions and service improvements.Work with business users to understand processes, identify problems, challenge requirements and define application enhancements.Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and prioritised delivery plans.Coordinate testing, UAT, changes and releases, minimising disruption to live operations.Work through integration, API, data-flow and application issues with vendors and technical teams.Maintain application roadmaps and prioritise fixes, enhancements and lifecycle requirements against operational needs.What we’re looking forStrong experience in business applications management or application service ownership within a live, business-critical environment.Direct responsibility for applications after go-live, including support, incidents, vendor management and ongoing enhancements.Solid business analysis skills, with the confidence to challenge stakeholders and translate operational requirements into workable solutions.Practical understanding of service management, SLAs, incident/problem management and change/release processes.Sufficient technical understanding to engage confidently on integrations, APIs, data flows and application troubleshooting.Strong stakeholder-management skills, working comfortably across frontline users, business leaders, vendors and IT.Experience in airports, cargo, ground handling or aviation is highly desirable. Candidates from other complex operational sectors with relevant application-ownership experience will also be considered.Product roadmap and prioritisation experience is useful, but proven operational application ownership is the priority.Apply now for a confidential discussion with Salt.
