IT Compliance Lead – Web3, Digital Assets & Funds

Axiom is hiring an experienced IT Compliance Lead for a fast-growing financial technology business operating at the intersection of Web3, digital assets, investment funds and cross-border payments.This is not a traditional compliance role focused on policies and paperwork. You’ll sit close to Technology and Product, translating complex regulatory obligations into real, enforceable controls across blockchain platforms, payments infrastructure, trading systems and fund operations. The position reports directly to the CTO and carries genuine authority over regulated technology releases and market launches.The CompanyYou’ll join an ambitious Dubai-based financial technology group building an integrated ecosystem across digital assets, investment products and global payments.The business operates across multiple regulated environments, creating a particularly interesting challenge for someone who wants broader exposure than a conventional bank, exchange or single-product fintech can offer. You’ll work across Engineering, Product, Security, Legal, Risk and Compliance as the platform continues to scale.What You’ll OwnThis is a high-impact second-line role with the mandate to challenge, approve and, where necessary, stop regulated technology changes.You’ll:Own technology compliance end-to-end across Web3, digital assets, funds and payments.Work directly with major UAE regulatory frameworks, including VARA, DFSA, FSRA, SCA and the Central Bank.Shape controls across wallets, custody, blockchain transactions, smart contracts, APIs and payment flows.Lead critical frameworks covering Travel Rule, sanctions, blockchain analytics and transaction monitoring.Embed compliance into the product, engineering and software release lifecycle rather than operating as a traditional compliance function.Gain high-impact exposure across regulatory licensing, audits, automated trading, ISO/SOC 2 readiness and strategic third-party governance.What We’re Looking For8+ years’ experience in IT compliance, technology risk, IT audit or governance within regulated financial services, fintech or digital assets.Direct experience across at least two areas: crypto/virtual assets, funds/investment management, and payments.Proven experience building or developing compliance and technology control frameworks from the ground up.Strong knowledge of blockchain, wallets, custody, exchange operations and digital asset transactions.Hands-on regulatory experience covering licensing, inspections, audits, AML/CFT, Travel Rule, sanctions and transaction monitoring.Strong UAE regulatory knowledge plus relevant certifications such as CISA, CRISC or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor; CAMS is highly desirable.The OpportunityAttractive salary & benefitsBroad ownership across crypto, payments, funds and trading technologyDirect access to senior leadershipReal influence over product launches and regulatory decisionsHigh-impact role in a fast-growing digital assets businessStrategic authority to shape how the business scales compliantlyIf you’re looking for a role where technology compliance genuinely influences how a digital financial platform is built and scaled, this is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership.Apply via the advert or contact Hassan directly at hassan@axiomrecruit.com.
