Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob purposeThe IT Engineer keeps every employee productive by delivering ready-to-use computers, resolving day-to-day IT issues, and running the company's SharePoint environment. The role also owns the accuracy of the IT department's databases, from asset inventory to user accounts and licenses.Key responsibilitiesOperating system support
- Install, configure, patch and upgrade Windows on company laptops and desktops.
- Troubleshoot OS issues: boot failures, driver conflicts, performance, profile corruption.
- Apply security baselines, Windows Updates and antivirus/EDR policies across all endpoints.
- Maintain standard OS images and deployment tools.New employee device preparation
- Prepare laptops, desktops and peripherals before each new joiner's.
- Install the standard software package (Microsoft 365, PDF tools, ERP client, engineering or design tools as per role).
- Join devices to the domain, enroll in device management.
- Create user accounts, email mailboxes, Teams access and file share permissions.
- Hand over equipment with a signed asset handover form and a short orientation on IT usage and policies.
- Recover, wipe and re-stock equipment from leavers.End-user IT support
- Act as first and second line support for all employees, in person, by phone and remotely.
- Log, prioritize and resolve tickets within agreed response times; escalate to vendors when needed.
- Support printers, scanners, Wi-Fi, email and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Reset passwords, unlock accounts and manage MFA enrollment.
- Maintain SharePoint sites, document libraries and lists for each department and team.
- Manage site permissions, groups and external sharing in line with company policy.
- Migrate files from local drives and file servers to SharePoint / OneDrive.
- Train employees on SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams, and support them.IT department databases and records
- Maintain and update the IT asset inventory: hardware, serial numbers, assigned users, warranty and location.
- Keep the software license register accurate, including renewals and expiry dates.
- Keep the ticketing system data clean and produce monthly IT support reports.
- Ensure IT databases are backed up, access-controlled and audited periodically.Qualifications and skillsEducation and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in IT support or system administration.
- Proven experience administering SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.Technical skills
- Windows 10/11 deployment and troubleshooting; Windows Server and Active Directory basics.
- Microsoft 365 admin: Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint.
- Hardware troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, printers and peripherals.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPN.
- Working knowledge of databases and data tools (Excel, SharePoint lists, SQL basics) for IT records.Soft skills
- Customer-focused, patient and clear when explaining technical topics to non-technical users.
- Organized, with strong attention to detail in documentation and records.
- Able to prioritize multiple requests and work independently.
- Good communication in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.Working conditions
- Office-based, with occasional visits to project sites or branch offices.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work for upgrades, migrations or urgent issues.
- May need to lift and move IT equipment up to 15 kg.
