Role Description The Director role is a full-time hybrid position based in Dubai, with a combination of on-campus and remote responsibilities. The Director will oversee the strategic planning and execution of chapter activities, including events, workshops, mentorship programs, and outreach initiatives. This role involves coordinating with student members, faculty advisors, and external partners, managing communications across digital channels (including LinkedIn), and ensuring alignment with IEEE and IEEE Computer Society guidelines. The Director will be responsible for developing annual goals, managing budgets and resources, supervising committees, and fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment. Day-to-day tasks include leading regular meetings, monitoring project progress, resolving operational issues, and representing the chapter in university and IEEE-related engagements.QualificationsStrong leadership and organizational skills, including experience coordinating teams, managing projects, and setting strategic goals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and external stakeholders.Background or strong interest in computer science, information technology, or related fields; familiarity with IEEE and its activities is an advantage.Ability to plan and deliver events, workshops, and community initiatives, including basic budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management.Proficiency in using digital collaboration tools and social media platforms (such as LinkedIn) to promote activities and engage with the community.Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful environment and supporting diverse perspectives within the student community.Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a relevant academic program; prior experience in student organizations or volunteer leadership roles is preferred.Capacity to work in a hybrid setting in Dubai, balancing in-person responsibilities with remote coordination and communication.
