Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole OverviewRufescent is looking for a hands-on and responsible IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to support and maintain the company’s core IT infrastructure, networks, servers, endpoint devices, MDM controls, IT security practices, and operational IT procedures.The role is focused on ensuring that Rufescent’s IT environment is stable, secure, documented, and maintained through clear processes. The candidate should have strong practical experience in networks, servers, device control, user access management, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and IT operations.This is not a basic desktop support role. The candidate must be technically strong, structured, presentable, and capable of taking ownership of IT matters, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and following issues through until closure.Exposure to hospitality, property technology, CCTV, IPTV, access control, BMS, PMS, AV, and digital signage systems will be considered an advantage. The primary requirement remains strong IT infrastructure, network, server, MDM, security, and process capability.Key Responsibilities1. IT Infrastructure & Server SupportSupport and maintain core IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network devices, endpoints, and related IT services.Support Windows/Linux server administration, patching, monitoring, backups, restore checks, and system updates.Ensure critical IT systems are stable, secure, and ready for daily business operations.Maintain system records, configuration details, support contacts, and escalation paths.Identify recurring technical issues and recommend permanent fixes where possible.2. Network & Wi-Fi OperationsSupport and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, IP addressing, ports, and connectivity-related issues.Coordinate with network vendors or internal network resources for advanced troubleshooting and changes.Maintain network documentation including device details, IP plans, access points, firewall dependencies, and connectivity records.Help identify whether issues are related to network, device, server, system configuration, vendor platform, or user process.Ensure staff, operational, and guest-related network environments are properly supported and controlled.3. MDM, Device Control & Endpoint ManagementManage and support company endpoints such as laptops, desktops, tablets, staff devices, printers, scanners, and other IT-controlled devices.Support Mobile Device Management policies, device restrictions, app controls, kiosk mode, remote wipe, geofencing controls where applicable, and device compliance.Maintain IT asset registers, device assignment records, replacement history, and device status.Ensure proper device issuance, recovery, access removal, and control during onboarding and offboarding.Support data protection and privacy controls on company-managed devices.4. IT Security, Access & ProceduresSupport network and system security practices, including user access management, permissions, password policies, MFA, endpoint protection, and secure access procedures.Ensure user creation, role changes, access removal, and offboarding are handled through proper approval and documentation.Track security risks, repeated issues, unauthorized access concerns, and policy gaps.Support basic security checklists for systems, devices, servers, and network access.Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure security-related issues are resolved properly.5. Preventive Maintenance & IT DocumentationCreate and follow preventive maintenance schedules for IT infrastructure, servers, network devices, endpoints, and related systems.Maintain inspection records, maintenance logs, issue history, and corrective actions.Maintain documentation for IT assets, servers, network equipment, access points, endpoints, MDM policies, vendor contacts, and support processes.Ensure proper procedures are followed for access requests, device issuance, vendor access, system changes, incidents, and escalations.Improve documentation so the company is not dependent on verbal knowledge or individual vendor memory.6. Vendor Coordination & Issue ManagementCoordinate with IT vendors, service providers, and support partners for infrastructure, network, server, endpoint, MDM, security, and related issues.Raise issues clearly with proper details, evidence, screenshots, logs, and impact explanation where applicable.Track vendor commitments, timelines, service visits, pending actions, and closure status.Validate vendor fixes before closing issues.Maintain a structured tracker for IT-related issues and provide clear updates to the Head of Technology / CTO.7. Property Technology Support Good-to-have / coordination responsibilitySupport coordination with vendors for connected property and operational systems where required.Systems may include CCTV, IPTV, IP telephony, access control, door locks, BMS, GRMS, PMS, conference systems, AV systems, curtain motors, LED screens, and digital signage.The candidate is not expected to be an expert in all these systems, but should be able to understand basic dependencies, coordinate vendors, document ownership, and ensure issues are tracked properly.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, network support, or IT operations.Good understanding of LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, IP addressing, and connectivity troubleshooting.Experience with Windows/Linux servers, patching, backup coordination, monitoring, and basic system administration.Experience with endpoint management, device control, IT assets, and user access procedures.Understanding of MDM, device policies, access restrictions, remote wipe, app control, and endpoint compliance.Good understanding of IT security practices, user permissions, MFA, endpoint protection, access control, and offboarding procedures.Strong documentation, reporting, and follow-up discipline.Ability to manage vendors and ensure issues are tracked until closure.Ability to troubleshoot logically across network, server, device, user, vendor, and configuration layers.Professional communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and management.Strong ownership mindset and ability to work in a structured manner.Good to HaveExperience in hospitality, luxury venues, smart buildings, or property technology environments.Exposure to CCTV, IPTV, IP telephony, access control, smart locks, BMS, GRMS, PMS, AV systems, conference systems, LED screens, and digital signage.Experience with Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration, Azure AD / Entra ID, Active Directory, GPOs, IAM, or RBAC.Experience with backup tools, disaster recovery checks, NAS/storage systems, and restore testing.Experience with ticketing systems, ITIL processes, SLA reporting, RCA documentation, and preventive maintenance planning.Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar.Basic understanding of APIs, logs, databases, or software integrations.Certifications such as CCNA, Microsoft, ITIL, cybersecurity, networking, or other relevant infrastructure certifications.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Systems Administration, Engineering, or a related field.Prior experience in IT infrastructure, systems support, network administration, endpoint management, or enterprise IT operations.Experience working with vendors, service providers, internal technical teams, and business operations teams.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate should be technically strong, presentable, responsible, structured, and practical. The candidate should be able to understand the actual status of IT systems, identify gaps, communicate clearly, document properly, and ensure the correct actions are taken until closure.This person should not only forward issues to vendors or wait for instructions. The role requires ownership, follow-up, validation, documentation, and proper reporting.
