Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition SummaryThe IT Manager is responsible for leading and managing BYD Canada's information technology operations, ensuring the availability, security, reliability, and continuous improvement of IT systems and services across the organization. This role oversees IT infrastructure, business applications, cybersecurity, IT support, data management, and technology projects to ensure alignment with business objectives and global IT standards.The successful candidate will serve as a key technology partner to the business, working closely with local and global stakeholders to implement scalable technology solutions, strengthen IT governance, and support BYD Canada's growth and digital transformation.Key ResponsibilitiesIT Strategy & ManagementDevelop and execute the local IT strategy in alignment with BYD Canada's business objectives and global IT policies.Manage day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems and services.Establish IT priorities, roadmaps, and improvement initiatives based on business needs.Provide technology recommendations to senior management to support business growth and operational efficiency.Ensure local IT practices comply with corporate standards, policies, and procedures.Manage IT vendors, service providers, contracts, and technology partners.IT Infrastructure & OperationsOversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, telecommunications, hardware, and end-user computing.Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of IT infrastructure across BYD Canada locations.Manage IT service desk and technical support operations, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.Establish and monitor IT service levels, performance indicators, and operational standards.Coordinate system maintenance, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery activities.Identify opportunities to improve IT efficiency, automation, and service quality.Business Applications & SystemsManage and support business-critical applications, systems, and platforms used across the organization.Collaborate with business functions to identify technology requirements and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency.Oversee system integrations, enhancements, upgrades, and implementations.Work closely with global IT and application teams to ensure successful deployment and support of corporate systems.Ensure applications meet business, operational, security, and compliance requirements.Support the implementation and optimization of ERP, CRM, HR, finance, sales, aftersales, and other business applications as required.Cybersecurity & IT Risk ManagementImplement and maintain cybersecurity policies, controls, and best practices in alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements.Monitor cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, threats, and incidents and coordinate appropriate response actions.Ensure appropriate access controls, authentication, endpoint protection, network security, and data protection measures are in place.Conduct regular reviews of IT security controls and support internal and external audits.Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices among employees.Coordinate incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.IT Projects & Digital TransformationLead and coordinate IT projects from planning through implementation, ensuring delivery within established timelines, scope, and budget.Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements, priorities, and project objectives.Evaluate new technologies and identify opportunities to improve business processes and operational performance.Support digital transformation initiatives and the adoption of innovative technology solutions.Manage project risks, dependencies, resources, and stakeholder communication.Ensure effective change management and user adoption for new technology implementations.Data & Technology GovernanceSupport data governance, integrity, availability, and security across business systems.Ensure appropriate controls are established for data access, storage, retention, and protection.Monitor system performance and technology-related KPIs.Prepare regular IT performance reports and recommendations for management.Ensure IT documentation, procedures, asset inventories, and technical standards are maintained and up to date.Business Partnership & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary IT point of contact for business leaders and key stakeholders in Canada.Partner with Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Operations, Logistics, and other functions to understand business requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.Work closely with global and regional IT teams to ensure alignment and consistent execution of technology initiatives.Provide technical guidance and support to senior management.Translate business requirements into practical and scalable technology solutions.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation & Professional ExperienceBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 8 years of professional experience in IT, including experience managing IT operations, infrastructure, business applications, or technology projects.Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT management or leadership role.Experience managing IT infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, vendors, and technology projects.Experience working in a multinational organization is strongly preferred.Experience within the automotive, manufacturing, mobility, or other technology-driven industries is considered an asset.Experience working with global IT teams and international stakeholders is highly desirable.
