IT Manager

The IT & Digital Transformation Manager leads the organisation’s technology environment to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient operations while driving digital modernisation and system integration. The role enables technology as a strategic business enabler, supporting regulatory compliance, innovation, automation, data visibility, and enhanced customer experience, while building the future-ready digital backbone.Work experience requiredMinimum 5–7 years’ experience in IT leadership, preferably in a regulated or financial services/Fintech environments.Strong understanding of Financial Systems, Regulatory reporting, Cybersecurity and risk as well as vendor ecosystems.Experience in modernising systems, managing vendors, and delivering digital transformation in complex environments.Ability to translate business strategy into technology execution.Key Responsibilities:IT Strategy, Architecture & GovernanceDefine and execute a multi-year IT strategy and technology roadmap aligned to business strategy and regulatory obligations.Lead technology architecture, governance, policies, and standards in line with group and regulatory frameworks.Ensure compliance with POPIA, Exchange Control, SARB reporting standards, and financial services IT governance principles.Act as a bridge between IT, Finance, Compliance, Operations, and Commercial teams.Advis executive leadership on technology risks, opportunities, and trade-offs.Contribute to group-wide technology alignment.Infrastructure, Platforms & Systems EnablementOversee IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, systems, and end-user environments across branches and head office.Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance of business-critical systems, including SARB daily reporting.Own and enhance core platforms such as POS, branch systems, Treasury and FX engines, data warehouse, and reporting tools.Manage integrations with key partnersDrive system upgrades and automation to reduce manual processing and improve scalability.Cybersecurity, Regulatory Technology (RegTech) Risk & ResilienceDevelop and enforce cybersecurity controls suitable for a regulated financial services environment.Ensure robust data protection, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities, with regular testing.Conduct IT risk assessments and manage security incidents, audits, and remediation plans.Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit to maintain a strong control environment.Digital Enablement, Innovation, Projects & Change DeliveryLead IT and digital initiatives from initiation to delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational readiness.Partner with business stakeholders and external vendors to deliver digital products and process automation.Ensure effective testing, documentation, training, and change management.Identify and pilot opportunities in AI, automation, fraud detection, and customer experience platforms.Vendor, Partner & Integration ManagementManage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and technology partners.Oversee procurement in line with governance and supply chain policies.Negotiate and monitor SLAs, uptime commitments, and regulatory obligations.Reduce vendor and operational risk through effective governance and knowledge transfer.Financial & Commercial Technology ManagementDevelop and manage the IT and digital budget with strong financial discipline.Optimise technology spend and ensure measurable business value and ROI.Support audits and improve cost transparency and cost-to-serve analysis.People Leadership & Capability DevelopmentLead and develop a multidisciplinary IT and digital team.Build internal capability and reduce dependency on external vendors.Oversee IT support services and foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.Key Performance Areas (KPAs)Stability, availability, and performance of core systemsSpeed to market for modern platforms and improved automationRegulatory reporting integrity and data accuracyClean audit outcomes and risk mitigationCybersecurity posture and incident reductionDelivery of digital and system enhancement initiativesCost control, efficiency, and value from technology investmentsUser and customer experience improvementsApply today!
