IT Operations Engineer

IT Operations Engineer – Key Requirements in PointsCore ResponsibilitiesResponsible for cost, schedule, and technical performance of assigned projects.Lead and participate in operations, outage, incident, and safety meetings.Support internal applications, systems, and infrastructure.Assist in installation, racking, cabling, and maintenance of equipment.Write code, perform programming, testing, debugging, and application support.Build, test, and maintain deployment and automation scripts.Assemble and install operational equipment including racks, cabinets, shelving, and related infrastructure.Support telephone system hardware, cabling, and communication infrastructure changes.Create and manage tickets while adhering to customer authentication and sign-in procedures.Monitor operational status boards, engineering review boards, and problem management boards.Provide project leadership and supervise junior team members when required.Prepare technical and operational presentations for customers and management.Design, maintain, host, transform, and analyze operational processes.Install and maintain mechanical and operational equipment within plant or data center environments.Build and execute unit tests and maintain test plans.Take corrective actions on system alerts based on standard operating procedures (SOPs).Perform inventory management and data entry for received goods and assets.Collaborate with project teams to design solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.Provide timely stakeholder updates during critical incidents and outages.Prepare incident reports, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and downtime reports.Participate in on-call rotations within a 24x7 operational environment.Design scalable, maintainable, testable, and documented software solutions.Develop scalable services and client-side components for operational platforms.Perform code reviews and collaborate with development and operations teams.Support Application Maintenance and ITIL processes including:Incident ManagementProblem ManagementChange ManagementRelease ManagementPatch ManagementMust-Have Technical SkillsLinux AdministrationUNIX SystemsPython ProgrammingAutosys SchedulingCloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, etc.)Infrastructure MonitoringApplication SupportAutomation & ScriptingCI/CD and Deployment ManagementTroubleshooting & Root Cause AnalysisCommand Line ToolsSystem AdministrationSoftware Testing & DebuggingVersion Control SystemsIncident Response & ManagementRequired Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent attention to detail.Continuous improvement mindset.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced 24x7 operational environment.Leadership and team collaboration skills.Customer-focused approach.Ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or related discipline.Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.Preferred CertificationsITIL Foundation / ITIL v4CCNACCNPRHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner / AssociateIAT Level IILean Six Sigma (LSS)EIT (Engineer in Training)SSL / Security-related Certifications Location-SharjahSalary-Up to 17 K AED
