IT Project Manager – Insurance Technology

About the RoleThe IT Project Manager is responsible for driving strategic technology programs that support business transformation, digital innovation, regulatory compliance, and modernization of insurance/takaful technology platforms. The role requires strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience in managing complex technology initiatives within the insurance industry, including life/takaful insurance.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver large-scale technology initiatives across the insurance industry, including life/family insurance/takaful, covering product launches, core platform implementations and migrations, digital transformation programs, and regulatory change initiatives.Lead programs involving insurance operations, digital channels, enterprise integrations, and business-critical platforms.Define delivery strategies, implementation roadmaps, governance models, and success measures.Manage multiple projects, dependencies, budgets, resources, and competing priorities while ensuring alignment with business objectives.Provide regular updates to executive management and steering committees on progress, risks, financials, and key decisions.Drive collaboration among business teams, technology teams, vendors, and external partners to achieve successful programme outcomes.Ensure projects deliver measurable business value while adhering to regulatory, security, and governance requirements.Promote continuous improvement in delivery methodologies, standards, and project governance practices.Experience & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in IT project and program delivery.Minimum 5 years of experience delivering technology initiatives within the insurance/takaful industry, including life/family insurance or takaful.Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum are preferred.Insurance/Takaful Domain Knowledge:Strong understanding of insurance/takaful business processes and technology ecosystems, including:Policy Administration and Servicing PlatformsUnderwriting and New Business ProcessingClaims Management and Settlement ProcessesProduct Lifecycle ManagementPremium Billing and CollectionsReinsurance AdministrationDigital Customer Platforms and Distribution ChannelsAML, KYC, and Insurance Regulatory RequirementsRegulatory Reporting and Data AnalyticsPreferred Background Experience with core insurance/takaful platforms, policy administration systems, and claims solutions. Experience delivering customer portals, digital initiatives, and enterprise integration programs.Exposure to cloud technologies, enterprise applications, and data-driven transformation initiatives.Practical experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.Success Profile A results-driven technology leader with strong insurance/takaful domain expertise and a proven ability to deliver complex transformation programs, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational change while ensuring operational resilience and effective project governance.
