RAK Ceramics is publicly listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the Dhaka Stock Exchange.The RoleThe Item Master Controller is responsible for managing item master data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all item-related information. The focus will be on creating and maintaining a single master record for each item, eliminating duplicate codes and streamlining the purchasing process.What You Will Be DoingCreating and assigning item codes to existing and new products and services based on predefined logic.Regularly reviewing and updating existing item codes to reflect any changes in product specifications, manufacturing processes, or inventory management systems.Managing the item code database by accurately entering and updating relevant information such as product descriptions, units of measure, and other mandatory attributes.Collaborating with various departments, including production, procurement, sales, finance, and quality control, to ensure accurate and consistent item code usage across the organization.Ensuring that item codes are properly linked to the correct products and components, minimizing the chances of errors or mix-ups in production or inventory management.Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to item codes, such as change logs, version control, and reports on item code usage and performance.Generating reports and analyzing data related to item codes for management decision-making or process improvements.Identifying opportunities for process improvements in item code management and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.What We Are Looking ForSome of the key competencies required for the role include:FunctionalProficiency in ERP systems such as SAP MM (Materials Management).Experience in item master data management and maintaining accurate item-related information.Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.Ability to use reporting and analytics tools to derive insights from master data.Ability to create, assign, review, and maintain item codes accurately.BehaviouralAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset and seeks opportunities to enhance processes.Strong communication and collaboration skills with various departments.Ability to think critically when managing item master data.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data integrity issues.Our Ideal MatchBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; candidates with a degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering may also be considered.8–10 years of total work experience, with 6–8 years of relevant experience in item master data management role.Strong experience in managing item codes, item master data, data accuracy, documentation, and data integrity.Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP MM (Materials Management), along with knowledge of data governance and reporting/analytics tools.RAK Ceramics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender, nationality, disability, age, or marital status.
