Ignite Test Prep partners with motivated students who aim for competitive scores and transformative academic outcomes.Role Description The Ivy League Tutor (REMOTE, U.S. ONLY) is a full-time role focused on delivering high-impact test preparation and academic mentorship to middle and high school students. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting individualized virtual tutoring sessions for SAT, ACT, and related academic subjects, using Ignite’s proprietary curriculum and teaching methods. The tutor will assess student needs, design customized study plans, track progress, and adjust instruction to match each learner’s strengths and areas for improvement. The role involves providing feedback on practice tests, supporting students with college admissions strategy, and advising on extracurricular planning when appropriate. The tutor will collaborate with the Ignite team to maintain consistent communication with families, document student performance, and ensure a supportive, engaging remote learning environment.Qualifications Strong standardized test expertise, including high personal scores on the SAT and/or ACT, and the ability to teach test-taking strategies clearly.Demonstrated academic excellence, preferably with a degree from an Ivy League or other highly selective institution, and solid subject-matter proficiency in math, reading, and writing.Proven tutoring or teaching experience, with skill in explaining complex concepts accessibly and adapting instruction to diverse learning styles.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on mentorship, encouragement, and building student confidence.Comfort with remote work, including reliable high-speed internet, familiarity with online teaching platforms, and strong time management and organizational abilities.Ability to provide structured feedback, track data-driven progress, and maintain clear, professional communication with students and families.Availability to work a full-time schedule that may include evenings and weekends to accommodate students in different time zones.Experience with college admissions advising, essay coaching, or extracurricular planning is highly beneficial.
