Java Application Developer

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Apache Kafka. This is primarily an Individual Contributor (IC) role focused on developing scalable, cloud-native applications and distributed systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable Java/Spring Boot Microservices and REST APIs.Build and integrate event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.Develop resilient, highly available, and performance-oriented distributed systems.Implement secure APIs using Spring Security, OAuth2/JWT, and modern security practices.Work with relational/NoSQL databases and optimize application performance.Develop unit/integration tests and maintain high code quality.Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.Participate in technical design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.Work with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud-native deployment environments.Required SkillsStrong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+ and Spring Boot.Extensive experience building Microservices and RESTful APIs.Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka — producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, retries, and error handling.Good understanding of distributed systems, resiliency, scalability, and asynchronous processing.Experience with Docker and cloud platforms.Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.Experience with JUnit/Mockito and automated testing.Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD, design patterns, and clean coding practices.PreferredMicrosoft Azure experience, particularly AKS, App Service, Azure Functions, Event Hubs, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.Kubernetes, Kafka Streams, Redis, NoSQL, and observability tools.6+ years of software development experience with significant hands-on Java/Microservices experience.
