Because we work with various customers, you are also expected to be able to adapt to different environmentsKey ResponsibilitiesAs a Backend Engineer (Kotlin, DevOps, Kafka), you will design, build, and operate applications that support a modern IAM platform, ensuring it remains secure, scalable, compliant, and future-ready.Working at the intersection of software engineering, cybersecurity, platform engineering, and digital transformation, you will help build next-generation IAM capabilities while focusing on automation, operational excellence, and platform reliability.You will work with modern cloud-native technologies, including Azure, Kubernetes, Microservices, Kafka, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.Build and maintain scalable backend microservices using Kotlin and/or Java.Design and implement secure backend services supporting authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle management, and platform automation.Develop technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, security standards, and business requirements.Build reusable APIs and event-driven integrations using Kafka and modern integration patterns.Develop proofs of concept and contribute to platform innovation initiatives.Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational monitoring.Contribute to DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code initiatives.Collaborate closely with architects, platform engineers, security specialists, product teams, and application teams.Support platform reliability, operational readiness, and production stability.Contribute to engineering standards, code quality, security-by-design principles, and technical governance.Help modernize legacy integrations toward cloud-native and API-driven architectures.What You'll Bring to the Position2–5 years of experience as a Backend Engineer.Professional experience with Kotlin and/or Java.Strong knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot.Experience building REST APIs and microservices.Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven architectures.Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.Experience working with Azure cloud services.Experience with Infrastructure as Code is a plus.Experience within Identity & Access Management (IAM), cybersecurity, or identity platforms is an advantage.What we offerCompetitive Salary & Benefits: Including a laptop, mobile phone, full travel allowance, and pension plan.Work-Life Balance: 25 vacation days, flexible working hours in ahybrid mode.Professional Growth: Weekly Dutch classes and a tailored talent management program with a financial budget to help you achieve your professional goalsDynamic Culture: Diverse team activities from tech meetups to sports and social events.Is there still room for fun?
