The Java Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices that power ZIGTAL’s Workforce Intelligence platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient Java code, implementing and integrating Spring-based components, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting production issues. The role involves collaborating with product managers, data and AI teams, and other engineers to build scalable APIs, optimize system performance, and ensure secure, reliable integrations with external systems. The engineer will also contribute to technical documentation, unit and integration testing, and continuous improvement of development practices.Responsibilities● Design & Development: Build and maintain RESTful APIs for a multi-tenant skillmanagement platform with 16+ service modules● Database Architecture: Design efficient database schemas and write complex JPA queries;manage Liquibase change sets for schema migrations● Multi-tenancy: Implement and maintain multi-tenant data isolation patterns across theplatform● Integration Development: Build integrations with third-party identity providers (Keycloak,Azure AD), email services, and cloud AI/ML services (AWS Bedrock)● Excel & PDF Processing: Develop robust data import/export features handling large Excelworkbooks and PDF documents● Code Quality: Write clean, testable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests;maintain code coverage thresholds (60-90%)● Performance Optimization: Profile and optimize critical code paths, database queries, andcaching strategies● Code Reviews: Participate in peer code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standardsand architectural guidelines● Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation and API specificationsRequired Qualifications● Bachelor's degree from an IIT / Tier-1 engineering college● 2-10 years of experienceSkills:● Strong Java Expertise: Deep knowledge of Java 17+ features including records, sealedclasses, pattern matching, and virtual threads● Spring Boot Mastery: Extensive experience with Spring Boot 3.x, Spring MVC, Spring DataJPA, Spring Cache, and Spring Validation● REST API Design: Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable RESTfulAPIs● Build and Work with various AI Services to embed intelligent functionality in the application.● ORM & SQL Proficiency: Expert-level skills in JPA/Hibernate, writing optimized nativequeries, and managing entity relationships● Database Migrations: Hands-on experience with Liquibase or Flyway for managingdatabase schema evolution● Testing Discipline: Strong unit testing skills using JUnit 5, Mockito; familiarity withintegration testing patterns● Maven Expertise: Experience with multi-module Maven projects and dependencymanagement● Git Proficiency: Strong version control skills with Git and GitHub workflow patternsNice-to-Have skills● Exposure to AI/ML integration (LLM APIs, AWS Bedrock)● Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture patterns● Familiarity with AWS services (ECS, ECR, Bedrock, S3)● Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC integration with Keycloak or Azure AD● Experience with Docker containerization and deployment● Familiarity with Lombok and ModelMapper● Experience processing large Excel files (FastExcel, Apache POI)● Knowledge of FreeMarker or similar templating enginesOur Engineering Standards● Code Coverage: Minimum 60-90% instruction coverage enforced via JaCoCo● Code Style: Adherence to Google Java Style Guide (custom IntelliJ configuration provided)● API Documentation: All APIs documented via SpringDoc OpenAPI● Database Changes: All schema changes versioned through Liquibase● Testing: Unit tests (*Test.java) and Integration tests (*IT.java) are separated and runindependentlyBenefits & Perks● Competitive salary commensurate with experience● Opportunity to work with cutting-edge Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x technologies● Experience in AI/ML integration with AWS Bedrock● Collaborative, learning-focused engineering culture● Flexible work arrangementsApply now if you're passionate about building scalable enterprise applications and want tocontribute to a rapidly growing platform.
