Role Description This part-time remote Java Specialist role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services. The specialist will work on implementing and optimizing Jakarta EE components, building and supporting microservices, and ensuring code quality through best practices and design patterns. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, reviewing and refactoring existing solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams on technical requirements, and troubleshooting production issues. The role also involves contributing to technical documentation, participating in code reviews, and proactively improving system performance and reliability.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in Java and related tooling.Candidates should possess experience with Jakarta EE and enterprise application development.Candidates should possess skills in Microservices architecture, including design, deployment, and integration.Candidates should possess knowledge of Design Patterns and best practices for scalable, maintainable code.Candidates should possess familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational databases, and version control systems (e.g., Git).Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication skills.Candidates should possess the ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time schedules, and collaborate in distributed teams.A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial.
