Job Description – Java Backend DeveloperExperience: 2+ YearsRole: Java Backend Developer / Backend EngineerEmployment Type: Full-TimeLocation: Bangalore About the RoleWe are looking for a Java Backend Developer with 2+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications.The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, databases, and event-driven architectures. Experience in building cloud-native applications and working with messaging platforms such as Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ will be highly valued.The candidate will work closely with product managers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other developers to deliver reliable and business-critical backend solutions, particularly for banking, payments, and event-driven applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices following industry-standard design principles.Build event-driven microservices using Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.Develop gRPC-based services and implement efficient service-to-service communication where required.Implement microservices using principles of scalability, fault tolerance, resilience, and maintainability.Develop batch programs and backend workflows for critical business processes.Participate in solution design, technical discussions, and architecture planning.Design and implement efficient database access, replication, synchronization, and data management strategies.Work with PostgreSQL, SQL databases, and NoSQL databases.Implement caching strategies using Redis, Aerospike, or similar technologies to improve application performance.Develop secure APIs using JWT, API Gateway, authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms.Follow secure coding practices and implement appropriate security controls for financial and business-critical applications.Deploy and manage backend applications in GCP, AWS, or Azure environments.Work with Docker and Kubernetes for application containerization and deployment.Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.Optimize application performance and troubleshoot latency, scalability, and reliability issues.Implement application observability using logging, metrics, monitoring, and distributed tracing.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, defects, and performance bottlenecks.Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards and best practices.Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, DevOps, and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and technical discussions.Stay updated with modern Java, Spring Boot, cloud-native, and distributed-system technologies.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.2+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+.Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring-based application development.Good understanding of Microservices Architecture.Experience developing RESTful APIs.Good understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.Hands-on experience with at least one messaging platform such as Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ.Strong experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.Familiarity with NoSQL databases is an advantage.Experience with Git, Maven, and CI/CD practices.Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: GCP, AWS, or Azure.Understanding of authentication, authorization, JWT, API security, SSL/TLS, and encryption concepts.Experience with unit testing and integration testing using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, exception handling, multithreading, and Java collections.Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Good communication and collaboration skills.Preferred SkillsExperience with Quarkus.Experience with gRPC and CQRS.Experience building event-driven and distributed systems.Hands-on experience with Redis or Aerospike caching.Experience with Aerospike or other high-performance NoSQL databases.Experience with Google Pub/Sub.Experience working on banking, fintech, payments, or transaction-processing systems.Understanding of high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), replication, and failover strategies.Experience with CDN integration.Knowledge of distributed tracing and observability tools.Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar monitoring technologies.Understanding of performance optimization and low-latency application design.Key
